Re: X-Games Rally 2010
Proper Rallying is actually less complicated than X Games ''Rally''!
I love the US Rally Scene btw guys, the Rally America series is really, really good, I just hate that the X-Games is somehow more important than winning the proper series...

I also wish they could actually build a proper super-special course so that there aren't so many freaking red flags.

Re: X-Games Rally 2010
Ugh... The first year they did it (the one where McRae rolled and still got the silver) it was a timed short special stage type thing.
They may aswell just do a Rallycross race, I would enjoy that more. Rallycross is awsome.

Re: X-Games Rally 2010
Even i'll admit the course is too complicated this year.
The Super Rally (Rallycross) should hopefully boost it up and silence the haters! lol

Re: X-Games Rally 2010
Super Rally was great! A Bit dissapointed they made a mistake and waved the Chequered Flag a lap early in the Final though

Two Gold medals for Tanner Foust and thhe Rockstar Fiesta Rallycross Car which was Dominant throughout both of the Rally disciplines this year.
However there were two major dissapontments in my eyes.....
Firstly Ken Block, Knocked out in the first round of the Rally Crossover event, Jumped the start and then Stalled in his Super Rally heat, only making it into the Last Chance race by default after Dave Mirra forgot to take the Jump. And Finally breaking down whilst in the lead of the Last Chance race....
The Second Dissapontment was Subaru.... Almost all of the Subaru's Failed to finish (or in Pastrana's case in the Super Rally Failed to start) And they wernt even on the pace when they were running (with the exception of Stefan Verdier in the Super Rally)
The Rally Cross over course was Overly confusing which robbed us of many good battles with drivers simply getting confused and making mistakes resulting in Disqualifications. (Why do all forms of motorsport start out simple and then get too complicated and ruin themselves?!?!)
All this aside i did enjoy the X-Games Rally and it was definately worth staying up until 4:15 in the morning to watch it. Tanner Foust was just plain amazing all night and Brian Deegan was a surpprisingly potenet package (Although he did build the entire course in his Garden including the jump!)

Re: X-Games Rally 2010
Okay, the X-Games Rally event is great to watch, but for me, compared to the actual Rally America season, its just a super special stage to me, not that big a deal.
But as I said, they should just make it an entirely Rallycross event, Rallycross was very popular with TV viewers in the UK in the 80's, back when Schanche, Alamaki, Wurz, Gollop, all those were mischieving around in Group B rally cars around some of Europe's best Rallycross tracks.
I would like to see the X-Games have a big Rallycross event for FIA Div. 1 Rallycross cars, get all the big names over from Europe, people like Pat Doran and Kenneth Hansen over to race against the americans, I would definetally watch that. Would boost the popularity of Rallycross worldwide.
I am not a hater of the event itself, more disapointed that a silly extreme sports event can overshadow and entire season of rallying on some very difficult rallies. (The Sno*Drift Rally especially, the drivers are not allowed spiked tyres, that takes alot of skill.)
