I am not even close to Chillz, and over a half second off Magictap in the Ford. How can the Holden be so much faster? How does Forza F this up? The cars should be close to identical. WTF. We will see if the Ford can take an overall win sometime this season. See everyone later.

I'm unfortunately unable to make this meeting. If any of the privateers, or someone not signed up for the series wants to drive in my place, please drop me a PM.
Re: V8C Meeting 2 Discussion Thread – Sunset Infield (Full Reverse Circuit)
@ Gashi - The Ford is the same as the Holden. Try running the Holden and see what times you get?
I got within a tenth of a second at Maple Valley using both cars. I think they are evenly matched.

I havn't put in practice for this track yet, Sunset is one of my favourite tracks and I already know my lines. I'll put in some laps say an hour before.
I agree with Chillz, the Holden and Ford are evenly matched. You must be doing something wrong if your alot slower in the Ford. Hell would you like my Holden because tbh i really couldn't care less at which one im driving.

Re: V8C Meeting 2 Discussion Thread – Sunset Infield (Full Reverse Circuit)
Mental. Just mental. If anyone finishes the races with no damage, do they get extra points???
I can get around comfortably, but go .5 - .8 of a second slower. Need to be so on edge to get the most out of the car around this track. One wrong move and.....BAM!!! Race over.
Should be interesting!

Just a note that you would need to give 5 days notice of driver changes
Re: V8C Meeting 2 Discussion Thread – Sunset Infield (Full Reverse Circuit)
agree with you chiilz, those walls are very unforgiving, get one of the chicanes on the infield even slightly wrong and there's gonna be a massive accident

Has qualifying changed?
It was 2 hot laps at Maple Valley. Is it now only one hot lap?
I hope not!

I wouldn't really mind the 1 hotlap, could be quite interesting to see who can hook it up.

I need to learn the correct lines around here. I am such a rookie at Sunset. Roll on the real world tracks.

Used to rock round here but am having to re-learn alot of the track with the V8. Should be a good race though and am roughly on the pace with a nothing tune

Re: V8C Meeting 2 Discussion Thread – Sunset Infield (Full Reverse Circuit)
Well the comparison isn't good as I am the fastest ford, and 1.5 seconds off the fastest holden. Take away chillz, and I am still 8 tenths slower than the fastest holden. Take away slim, still 5 tenths slower. If I am doing something wrong, every ford is doing it worse. Really was just venting my frustration earlier, and not at anyone here but at Forza. Please don't think I am attacking this series, website, or any of the drivers.

Re: V8C Meeting 2 Discussion Thread – Sunset Infield (Full Reverse Circuit)
Well very much a case of what could have been.
Two awesome starts saw me fighting in the top three by turn 2 but contact with various people and my own crashes saw me drop right back.
Three seperate crashes in race two meant I simply had to park it. No point flogging a dead Ford.

i had a great night. a 4th in race one from 7th on the grid was better than i thought. Then a amazing race 2 seeing me lead some of the 1st few laps but Chillz and Slim finally got by before lap 10. I drove my arse off after that and had a wee spin we gashi but still came 3rd!

Re: V8C Meeting 2 Discussion Thread – Sunset Infield (Full Reverse Circuit)
Great racing lads. Thoroughly enjoyed it, although race 1 was robbed of a battle between myself and slim due to a moment of madness from stonewall, but it allowed me to fight my way through the field with damage for a 3rd position. Race 2 was great, although my steering wheel paused the game during lap 1 which dropped me back to 8th, but this time with no damage, I was able to fight back for the win. Eventful, but fun evening. Thanks guys.

Re: V8C Meeting 2 Discussion Thread – Sunset Infield (Full Reverse Circuit)
I had a good night aswell, race 1 went well for me...although i would of liked to have had a battle with Chillz. Race 2 was good fun also, i chose to run Maximum downforce so i was a fair bit slower on the straight...plus there isn't many places to overtake. I stuggled to get past Y22, eventually i took him round the outside of the hairpin...i then did the same move on Colin. Looks like iv'e found somewhere to overtake.

Re: V8C Meeting 2 Discussion Thread – Sunset Infield (Full Reverse Circuit)
I think I ought to be expecting a laundry bill from britracer and Toby at some stage
Re: V8C Meeting 2 Discussion Thread – Sunset Infield (Full Reverse Circuit)
Decent (by my standards, having ran about three laps in the car since Maple Valley!) qualifying made race one a decent prospect. Good start saw me looking to take second into the infield section, when I was turned around by one of my team-mates and dumped onto the grass. Rejoined some six seconds behind the pack and was taking about a second a lap out of the car in front's time, but with only seven laps and britracer making his car very wide when I caught him on the last lap, I had to settle for seventh.
However, seventh meant pole for race two. I knew the car had good pace throughout, so was confident if I could get in front by the first corner and avoid any accidents, I could have a decent result. But as we hit the back straight the cars behind collided and safety car came out. Backing up the pack to make sure everyone was out the last corner, I fluffed the restart and garyp3398 took the lead.
At the end of the back straight, though, he misjudged the braking point and went wide, letting me and a number of others through. I started building a gap, but Gary was getting back through the pack, and I quickly realised he was running a similar low-downforce tune to me. He closed down on me within a few laps and we were fighting it out when I got hit by a lag spike that disorientated me and he slipped through as I missed my apex.
What followed was lap after lap of close racing within less than 200 feet between us on the straights, and about 50ft through the infield. I got a better run into the chicanes and slid up the inside, only for Gary to cut straight across my nose, unsighted. It was almost my Schumacher moment, but I lifted and got back in behind. Then, a few laps later, I threw it away as I overshot the braking point into turn one and ran onto the grass.
As Gary got clean air, he built his gap steadily until the end, with almost ten seconds between us. Likewise, I knew I couldn't catch him, so I concentrated on keeping my gap to third, which by the end I had got up to some 22 seconds. It was a fine race for those of us not caught up in the carnage behind, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
