Re: V8C Round 5 - Road Atlanta - Discussion Thread
HELLO! HELLO! WE ARE THE RANGERS BOYS! HELLO! HELLO! YOU'LL KNOW US BY OUR NOISE!
We expected to get thumped tonight, and we came away with a well earned point from the hardest game in our group, great result for the Gers!
Now, how did the Irwin boys do?

While today was my best peformance, I still could of done better. Then again the Holden's had far too much on the straights for me.
Which means one thing, I wouldn't mind if the following rule was added:
Stock Tune - Forced

Or remove a little downforce.
Stock tunes means whoevers driving style suits that tune wins. I like to setup cars that turn in sharp on the slowish corners and are stable through the fast corners. I adjust downforce to a level where the lap time is the fastest. The ford has 10hp more than the Holden as well.

Stock tunes are fun, but limited as Chillz points out. They only really work with a one car series as cars are fundamentally different in some way or another. There is nothing wrong with this series, but the Holden is "slightly" better car. I would still pick the ford every time though, so I don't complain. I love the Ford, just wish we weren't the only ones racing it!

Actually most people wanted to run the Ford but ended up with their 2nd choice...obviously being the Holden. To me the Ford and Holden are pretty much the same.

I thought the series would of been a bit more balanced, with some teams changing to the Ford.

Definition of "slightly" is "pretty much the same". Lol. Well, mostly, some of the time, on the third sunday of the equanox.

It only seems imbalanced when none of the Ford entrants turn up other than your team. If Duncan and Matt had been on that would have been another two at least, bringing it to 5 vs 5.
Re: V8C Round 5 - Road Atlanta - Discussion Thread
Almost everyone picked the Ford, that is why a lot of teams had to have their 2nd choice car. We opted for the Ford, but got the Holden. I would be up for swapping manufacturers to prove a point, if my team boss would entertain the idea. I may discuss this further, but me and Slim think they are both the same, so no difference to us or our lap times.

I don't want to change. I am merely commenting on this as such because my team, AAR, was part of a series that ran these exact cars, and everyone agreed the Holden was just a tick better overall than the Ford.
I will not switch cars, I have no problem losing to people that are crazy fast, like you and switch. I am also not that great of a tuner so the help that the PTR team has provided has been imensly welcomed, and I thank you guys.
I know the Holden wasn't your primary car, and I am not accusing you guys of choosing the car based off of performance. I didn't like how they did that to you guys because you didn't choose the proper back up car, that was just dirty in my mind. If you were in the Ford, you would still be killing me. Lol.
