Xbox 360 steering wheel UK availibility

I bought a 360 wireless wheel 3 weeks ago, which decided to go wrong just before the TCC round last night which was annoying to say the least. I'm in the process of returning it, but in trying to locate a replacement, new stock is scarce.

After a little research I find that the wheel has been out of production for some time which explains the stock shortage. With the only other decent wheel, the Logitech Drive FX also out of production along with the Fanatec as well (out of my price range) what sort of state is this to leave the 360 racing scene in???

Its more of a rant really, I just think the situation is ridiculous.

Yeah I read they stopped making them not long after forza 3 came out, hoping that means we will soon see a 3 pedal version with gear stick soon. I never really use mines nowadays, the novelty wore off with me after I realised I could go 2 seconds quicker in forza using the pad. I still use it for games like dirt and grid and will use it for F1 2010. I would offer you my one but it's shagged as well, the brackets holding the wheel in place inside the housing have shaped and it rattles like crazy and moves all over the shop. I just wish logitech was given xbox support.

I have seen one or two kicking about in the likes of GAME or HMV up here.

Well it was very less rare than the Logitech DFX, and a hell of a lot cheaper than the Fanatec 911 Turbo wheel!

And @ Richy - shame on you I hate it when people just give up with the wheel. I have spent every single second of playing Forza since I got it in 2008. Took me a month of sheer practice, and I was back into A Lobbies.

The problem is there's not really any other reasonable choice if you want to use a wheel on the 360. I have been a PC simmer for years and its only since Forza 2 that I've started dabbling seriously in console racing. I have a Logitech G25 which I would love to be able to use with my 360. If they ever allowed it to be compatible I would be over the moon. Thats why I held off so long, it wasn't until I was thrashing round the Nordschleife in a Peugeot 908 with TheFLC's wheel that I got hooked!

I'll keep an eye on stocks for a replacement, but I might even try and locate a Logitech FX on Ebay.

In the meantime I'll probably be getting F1 2010 for the PS3 first and then maybe the 360 version if I have any luck with wheels. Surely there must be something new around the corner.

@Nicky - When I was shopping for the wheel I couldn't for the life of me find teh Logitech one but there was an abundance of MS ones. And yes, I gave up with the wheel, simply because it annoyed me more than anything. But all these new xbox controllers that are new are all faulty, they all have dodgy left sticks where they tendto pull to the left. Or the jump left really easily. And it's not just one controller, I have tried 4 and they all act the same.
