Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
How are you guys level 20? I'm stuck at 11 and cannot win anymore races. The AI crashes me out literally every time I get the lead.
And then there's the drifting. How are you supposed to do that with a controller? And why is drifting even in a racing game?

drifting is next to impossible for me with a controller.

What's the name of the song that plays every time you win?
And has anyone else noticed that on all of the made up street tracks the AI takes an impossibly good line, but on all of the road courses they are all over the place? The race I just did, a GT500 ran down the main straight next to me on the dirt and somehow was going the same speed as me until it was time to break, at which point he crashed into the wall.

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
Trust me it needs it. Also needs an anchor to slow it down, it's incredibly fast on the straights!
Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
I have to admit,i want to like this game, but the more i play it the closer i am to trading it in.The handling or lack of is just soooo inconsistant, and the unrecoverable tankslappers that just happen from barely touching the grass are driving me mad,and don't even mention the drifting, thats as close to impossible even with steering sensitivity at minimum the sticks just don't allow minor corrections. It seems like when steering its either full lock or nothing at all.
Don't get me wrong,it looks great, and sounds awesome but most of the higher class cars are virtually non drivable on the controller. Now i admit i am not the best when it comes to throttle control but this is ridiculous.
But the worst part about of this game is the total lack of feedback/vibration from the car which makes me feel completely detached from the car.
I am struggling beyond belief with this game and just hope they patch it soon and fix some of the issues.Otherwise my LE copy will be sat on the pre-owned shelf at my local game store.

Pretty much agree exactly with this.
Do all of the GT1 and GT3 cars perform basically the same as the other cars in their class or are there any that are clearly better?

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
they're all about the same, some handle slightly better than others but those that handle better will lose out on the straights (tested this with richy and chris earlier today and the Aston was clearly pulling away from the Nissan on the sraights but the Nissan made it up in the turns) so yes they perform the same but each car has its strengths and weaknesses just like the real world

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
for this last week i have been tuning the lambo and can say that you can pretty much tune it to over steer ,under steer,.stable or less stable, tuning is more difficult than forza but way more rewarding if you get it right, it is also important that you tune for each track,my monza tune does not work any where else,i reckon it would be a similar scenario in the gt1 cars.

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
hi, i bought this on the date of release... within 2 hours it was boxed up and taken back to the shop.
I was given all the setttings for the controller by someone who had dialled it in.... for me the handling is an absolute fail.
I love the engine noises, cars, tracks.... but unles sit goes round the corner like a real car, im not interested.
hope you guys enjoy it, gutted as i wanted to like it so i could play something in addition to forza!

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
It does have its quirks but i will say the handling characteristics are almost exactly like a kart!!!

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
Yeah I understand how you feel about it Butcher, but tbh I am having a blast with the game using the wheel. Change of pace from Forza. I just had one of the best races I have ever had in a game in the GT3 series. The AI was sublime, perfectly placing their cars for passing or blocking.

most of my mates hated it at first, but after giving it time they know like it,honestly don't think you give it enough time.
