Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Cheers Nicky, those side pods look radical, looks like according to tech bosses at macca, want to create down force that was lost in rear doubel diffuser ban, also they mentioned that they expect perili tyres to only last 10 laps??? But that will be more about 20 in race trim.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
What the bloody hell!?!?!?!?!?!?!
That's just wierd. And as for the McLaren, it's certainly interesting to look at. Not entirely sure what the extra air inlets are for on the engine cover. It's a good package though, and the front end seems to be a logical progression of the 2010 design which is never a bad thing.

Kubica seriously injured after a rally crash in a Skoda S2000 car, he is believed to have multiple fractures which will more than likely have ended his 2011 campaign before it's even started!

I'd definetally go for Grosjean to stand in.
Such a shame about Kubica Atleast he injured himself doing proper motorsport!

An image of his car after the crash, there are reports that he has internal bleeding, this really is a massive shame he's a quality driver!

Bloody hell!
Its a shame because the Renault car was looking really strong in his hands during the winter testing. But we do wish him well and have a speedy recovery.

A Renault powered 'Lotus'...... in Black and Gold........with a Senna in the driving seat..... spooky!

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
If I were Renault I would put an experienced driver in. I wish people weren't so fond of nostalgia these days...
Yes, Senna may be driving a black and gold Lotus Renault. Its not spooky, its just Lotus being nostalgic, buying an F1 team and Senna signing for them by coincedence.

Thanks Matt.
I wish him a speedy recovery. And when he comes back, I hope he is just as good as he was!

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Yep, swan neck being used to hold on the rear wing. Not sure if it gives much advantage being all the way down there as opposed to being a full swan neck onto the upper element.. But I guess theres a nice big clean gap for the air to go through, gives a little less air pressure under the upper element.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
So with Kubica awake and early signs for his recovery looking promising, 3 names have started floating around the rumour mill to drive in his place this season... especially with Renault unwilling to name their test driver as a replacement and hinting that if its long term they may look outside the Current Team... So which would you like to see on the grid in the Black and Gold Machine?
Bruno Senna: Fabled rookie who was once touted by legendary Ayrton Senna as the next F1 great. Renault's Official Reserve Driver but not experienced or proven enough to lead the Team.
Nick Heidfeld: Current record holder for most consecutive F1 finishes, Heidfeld is a proven package and was a match for Kubica in 2009 in identical machineary. A lack of Sponsorship and outright pace are what may take the wind out of his sails.
Nico Hulkenberg: Scored Williams first Pole position for 100 races and often outpaced Barrichello despite his number two status and the lack of parts that sometimes caused. Also inexperienced in F1 but has proven pace and knows how to race with the front of the F1 pack.
So who would you like to see take The seat at Renault?

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Senna, Eric Boullier said during the Valencia that if anything were to happen to either Petrov or Kubica that Senna would take over

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Yes but Renault seem to be back tracking now that its actually happened. I dont think they want him in for a whole season.
