Re: General Discussion
Bad news... I can't make the first race. To keep it simple...Pay day today, instead of usual bank transfer I got a cheque. My Live runs out today and its Mothers birthday on Sunday. So not only can I not play on Live this weekend but I can't even afford to buy my mother something decent. Was supposed to be going to the snooker hall tomorrow and stopping off to look at some tattoos.
Was looking at a wheel today aswell as a playseat, quite tempting.
Have a good one guys.

Re: General Discussion
Hi all,
I would like to throw out some times to high light a genuine unfair balance that has appeared from testing the R15 for the first ISCC championship.
The R15 is not competitive for the first championship. It's a fact. There is currently little to no point in racing the ASIAN leg as the performance balancing stands in regards to the R15.
I have so far been determined to race and make the best of it, until further testing has really put paid to that idea.
Last night lfcnicklfc, DAN 2605, and I ran a one hour test. The R15 finish over 11,000 ft behind nick and over 9,000 ft behind Dan over this hour with the same amount of pit stops.
lfcnicklfc and PLOW Berty have both tried the R15 with the tune we have developed, nick managing to run low 34's as we can. Berty managed to declare the R15 horrible wishing us good luck as we are going to need it!!
What I am asking for is that this weekend anyone who wishes to dispute the testing data below can freely download the two tunes from my storefront and have a go themselves.
This tune has had seven people work on it. We have spent a lot of time and effort into making the R15 as fast as possible for the ASIAN leg and none of us are slow drivers. The fact has become very apparent we cannot compete for the ASIAN leg.
I have heard the counter argument, which to my understanding is that the R15 is stronger for the European leg.
Ok, it may be the case, currently we have not tested for that, but this counter argument is null and void when the ISCC is actually not just one long Championship but three separate Championships also. The cars HAVE to be competitive and balanced per championship within the longer championship. Otherwise there is no point in racing the longer championship either.
Ok, I've tried to explain my reasoning above. Please forgive me if my tone comes across wrong. It's hard when typing to sound consultative and friendly whilst bringing something up that lots of people have already put a shed load of time and effort into, which I appreciate. I'm sure these same people would appreciate the honest feedback with data to help back this up and the opportunity to test these claims for themselves, as we all aim to have the best racing experience possible in the ISCC ;O)
Twin Ring Motegi (hundreds of laps to get to this point)
At Homo'd PI the absolute best we can achieve is:
1.34.365
With an average lap time of around:
1.34.9xx / 1.35.1xx
Removing the restrictors delivers (I even put on traction for this!!)
1.33.338
Averaging around:
1.33.8xx / 1.33.9xx
Adding the 5% power handing cap (again with TCS!!)
1.33.762
averaging around:
1.34.1xx / 1.334.2xx
As you will see above. This brings the R15 right into the competitive bracket, whilst at the same time proving how uncompetitive the R15 currently is and that there is absolutely no way with the current PI of achieving competiveness.
I ask you, please use whatever little spare time you may have to freely download the two tunes on my StoreFront, with and without restrictors and have a go at the ASIAN circuits.
The second leg of the ISCC will also require balancing, this may be done perfectly with the current PI which we would be very happy to move back to. We are not trying to gain an advantage, far from it, we want to race and race hard in the thick of it, not just hot lap in a slower car at the back to make up the numbers and diversity.
Thanks for listening / reading. I hope you can find our testing valuable in reaching a decision either way.
Thanks
Matt

Re: General Discussion
It's a hard one Magic. Yes, the ISCC is 3 smaller championships but you are fighting for the overall championship. The point of the ISCC is to pick a car that you feel comfortable in for the long haul. Obviously some cars will be worse than others around certain types of tracks. That's the point. But you need to find the balance between picking a car that is good around some circuits and not so good around the rest. But I don't need to tell you that.
Last season with the restrictors off of both models of Audi ther was zero chance of the other cars having a fair race against them. It was just Audi domination and last season included Pugs and unrestricted Acuras. The Aston had no chance against the unrestricted cars. It was very unfair.
If your suggesting that we change the PIs for every leg of the championship then that isn't the ethos of Le Mans racing. I'm sure Audi wouldn't stop racing around certain circuits cause their car isn't as good around them as the Pugs are and vice versa. But yes, this is a game and we can change things to suit.
It's Saturday with the first race tomorrow night. It's not very fair for us to change PIs now as if it makes your cars too good in an overall race then we will have every other competitor complaining and wanting to remove their restrictors. If it proves that The Audis are indeed well off the pace after Motegi then we have ample time to re-adjust the PI. But it's too close to the first race now to re-write the rules regarding car PI.
I know it's not nice, but maybe you will just have to make the most out of the Asian rounds. There are only a few of them. Take as many points as possible and use the strengths of the car to fight back over the Euro and USA series. Then your car may have the advantage over the other cars that they have over you just now.

Re: General Discussion
Magic, I don't want to cause trouble by saying this but sometimes you have to accept that you ain't gonna win everything. As you probably know by now in the virtual as well as the real world the Peugeot is a much stronger car than the Audi and my Aston Martin. Last nights test proved that.
We have to acknowledge the TORA staff for trying to make these cars as close as possible but the Peugeot is the only car on the grid thats complete, even with a slight power disadvantage. And they have really good drivers in them.
I'm not complaining about last night. I thought it was a good test because I was surprised to be within 3,000ft of Nick's Peugeot in my Aston. Tsukuba is going to be even worse for me because my best laptime around there so far is a 45.1xx and the Audi and Peugeot is gonna be much better around there thanks to their handling advantage. So as Nick says, every car has it's advantages and disadvantages at each circuit.

Re: General Discussion
Cheers for digesting so swiftly and replying promptly. I appreciate your points about the long haul.
There are still three championships, the first is a championship in it's own right. If there is no chance of being competitive there is no point in racing in it TBH from a teams point of view, that has a reputation to uphold.
Without competing in the first championship, the remainder of the longer championship is also worthless.
I'm sorry, I stand by any decision TORA makes on this, and will not take offence. Please don't be offended if after discussion with the rest of my team we make a hard decision to with draw.
Without any changes I will be putting that forward as my suggestion. Just for clarity on where I stand.
Thanks again for taking time to reply.
