Rules & Regulations
The TORA NGTC Super Saloons represents an evolution of our TORA Touring Car Championship. With the real world of touring cars changing, we have moved too, and will be holding a seven round series at the beginning of 2011 which will see all-wheel drive four-door saloons competing for the title. Forza gives us 21 cars that fall within the regulations, and we ask you to try these out and feedback to us what you find.
The series is open to three car teams, of which in each round the two top-scoring car's points will go towards the team's championship. All standard TORA racing rules.
Each meeting will involve three sessions:
- Four lap qualifying session, one out-lap, two hot laps to set a time, and then one in-lap where times will be collated.
- One sprint race which will measure approximately 10 minutes in length depending upon the track. The grid will be ordered as per qualifying times. This race is scored using the standard TORA points system.
- One feature race which will measure approximately 30 minutes and require a mandatory pit-stop. The lobby captain must be informed by each driver when they are taking their pit-stop, and failure to pit will result in disqualification. Grid order is determined as the reverse of race one's finishing positions within each lobby. This race is scored at double points.
At the end of race one, the last placed driver in lobby A will be switched with the top placed driver in lobby B, and so on through each lobby.
Cars must be built to the following restrictions.
PI - 530/540/550 (dependant upon car model)
Drive Type - AWD (conversions permitted where required)
BHP - 350-450
Weight -2800-3500lbs

Re: Rules & Regulations
Just to clarify, there is no mention of restrictions on driver aids. Are things like TC legal?

Re: Rules & Regulations
TCS is allowed.
ABS, STM and autobrake are not permitted for this series.
Although, to be honest, with 4WD these cars don't really need TCS. They are very stable and agile without it, and as soon as you dial out the inherent 4WD understeer, they are great to drive. Seriously, try it without.

Re: Rules & Regulations
I don't usually run TC, but the reason I asked is I've only just realised I was practicing with it on as I'd forgotten to take it off following the Nurgburgring 24.. It'll be off for Round 2..

Re: Rules & Regulations
If it's found to be too quick, then it will be addressed again. As it stands, the 10 PI only accounts for a few tenths, so the car will not be significantly quicker, but it does put it closer to the pace.

What is the limit on the quantity of each model of car available? I want to look into changing mine.

Re: Rules & Regulations
4 of each type (1 team of 3, 1 privateer). If you are going to change, please choose carefully, as you're only permitted one car change per series. (And technically, it should be to your 2nd choice car on your original entry registration, but you didn't have one).
