The 2011 Autosport International - I'm Going

I've been lumped in with the "Public" group who can only attend on the weekend, rather than the "Trade" lot who have first dibs, I will be looking to slice their droids with my lightsaber....oops wrong exhibition...

It will be the first time I've ever been to a motorsport event, and the first time I'll have witnessed racing cars without them being on TV/Console/Internet.
(This makes me sound like im from Krgystan or something)

It's the Autosport show at the NEC Ian.

I tried to convince the missus to take me there cos it's my birthday this week - today infact - but she wasn't for it.

I've got a ticket for Saturday, but unsure if I can go Early to see the displays and buy the merchandise, and then go back later for the 6pm Indoor "Race".

I'm arriving in Birmingham on Friday afternoon, the hotel I'm staying at is not far from the Superprix Startline, wonder if I can walk a lap of the bygone street-track.

I think I can understand why there are trade days, and why you wouldnt want families disrupting meetings between dealerships and teams and whoever, but why advertise the thursday and friday to joe public if they cant go to them? :-S

Was meant to go but no dice due to lack of fundage and no 'professional' reason to go
If you've never been before it's certainly worth the trip.
