Re: Shift 2 GT1 discussion thread
It's released on the 1st in the UK in anycase.
Anyone who knows anything about the real GT1 series will know what steps were taken to ensure the cars were made relatively even throughout the year. It is really unlikely that the devs (and bearing in mind one of the guys does actually drive the GT3 cars!) would simply ignore this.
We have thought about this for a while, it's not a snap decision. We also knew that people would be reluctant to step away from FM3 when we have been established on that for some time. We have weighed that up with the fact that we KNOW many people are either bored with Forza or bored with using the same tracks week in week out.
The fact is biiiig car numbers doesn't sell games. It's all very well having a million cars but if you only have say 10 environments to use them on then what good is that?
I apreciate that people are wary of change but we have thought this through ALOT and we all need to recognise that TORA isn't just about Forza. It's about motorsport in all its forms.

....lol, soz, couldnt resist.....
....Yes there is a concern that Shift 2 may have the f missing from it within a week, but this may very well be the most anticipated racing game since the forza series, hence our combined excitement/concern.

Re: Shift 2 GT1 discussion thread
I have mixed emotions about this really. Yes I Think it's great we're going to pull our shorts down and slide on the ice straight into the unknown. But I can't help but think of how great the game sounds, how great it looks, and how great the track and car list is. That maybe, just maybe it may fall on it's rear end. Lets not forget how the majority of people thought of another game that had all the great things promised listed above but ended up being a rather large disappointment to the masses. That game being GT5. Now I'm not saying it will be GT5 all over again, just bearing in mind what could happen. But KUDO's Richy, jumping into the big unknown is a bold move and I for one hope like hell it turns out to be a good one!

I think we should have the elite physics turned on for the season. And then leave the physics like that forever.

Re: Shift 2 GT1 discussion thread
What happens when helmet cam makes people start puking like Forza is claiming? They already had to reduce it
Re: Shift 2 GT1 discussion thread
what does it matter what view people use? i say they should use what it most comfortable for them, If i were using a wheel yeah i would say go for that but not everyone uses a wheel.

Re: Shift 2 GT1 discussion thread
not from making people sick as I understand it (reducing helmet cam) and when forza moved the incar view forward because they said it was too difficult shows what they actually know about views as I have my multi screen set to 80% moving my view well back in forza.
They reduced the reflections and other graphics on the visor because the testers said it was to much. I personally would have liked it to stay as planned but hoo hum ;O)

Re: Shift 2 GT1 discussion thread
Going by Slim's post in the Shift2 thread you can't lock assists on and off. I am unsure about handling, but if it's possible it will probably be set for Elite mode.
Re: Shift 2 GT1 discussion thread
I think the quality of drivers we have here means that Elite mode shouldn't be a problem
Re: Shift 2 GT1 discussion thread
Just a quick question for the people who have the game. Can we use the GT1 cars online straight out of the box or do we have to unlock them for playing online?

Re: Shift 2 GT1 discussion thread
ugh that's not good. How long will it take to reach a level where you can buy the GT1 cars? Might have to delay this series a bit if that's the case. I will consider turning it into a one make series run on Shift 2 or something.
Re: Shift 2 GT1 discussion thread
run the GTs on forza 3 mate, we have the rules and cars all there and do a simple one make championship on S2.
