Tickets are £25 for online preorder here (£30 on the day). Free carparking, free open paddock, free roaming into any grandstand and the first ever event to use the new "Wing" pits.

Butcher are you going?

Me and a few lads was planning to get there for this then hop on the ferry to Le Mans that night. Would have been ideal but costs and work commitments spoiled that idea

I've never been to any race. Any suggestions on what time to aim for to arrive? Just wondering about the queue to get into the car park!

Looking at previous year of this event, I'd say it won't be the busiest event to go to, so I wouldn't imagine traffic to be that bad. I'd say arrive about an hour before the first session you'd want to watch. Gives you time to park up, unpack your car, get into the circuit, meetup any people, and then finding somewhere to watch from. I think I'll be in the grandstands at the new arena complex for the start of the races, I expect many an accident!

I remember when I used to go to the GP at Silverstone, and I started queueing to get a good seat to watch the race from, at 3AM!!!

@ chris Yea I am going to get there for 10ish, about 1 hour drive for me if im going slow 45 min if I push lol, watch out for speed camera on a road up to silverstone almost been caught there.

Should be fun GT3 with the new mercs GT1 yea probally last year we will see gt1 cars in there current form GT3 to GT1 next year me thinks

I'm the old days (not been in a while), I'd have a backpack with a magazine, a radio, a camera, a litre bottle of water, a jumper, and a bag of Haribo. Also sun protection if its sunny, regardless if its hot. I'd also have a baseball cap and sunglasses as you are out in the sun ALL day

Current forecast is 17 celsius, cloudy but dry, although metoffice says it'll remain warm all weekend. Looking good so far

You guys haven't been getting extreme low pressures recently have you?

The past few days here its been really sunny and warm, about 18 degrees, low wind, then all of a sudden its strong gusts, heavy rain and hail.

And its been doing that several times a day here.

That would be damn interesting in an Hour long GT1 race.

we've had very low pressure for the last two weeks, it's been a complete pain, we should be getting high pressure by the end of the week.

Looking forward to the GT1's and GT3's at Silverstone, it always creates fantastic racing there and we should be in for a good one!
