I don't see why it should't have all of these features.

Grand Prix Legends, which is a 14 year old game includes Oil Temperature and Pressure!

Wet Weather has featured in racing games for over a decade too.

Turn 10 really need to up the game with this one, Forza 3 was a bare bones Gran Turismo type formula game with a handful of tracks and physics that were ok.

Grand Prix Legends always reminds me of how good a racing game can be when the developers put a little extra love and care into the small details. Grand Prix Legends is a very simple game, but Papyrus wanted it to be groundbreaking, not just saying its groundbreaking for PR, and they lovingly created a game which is still much better than a lot of other racing games out there today.

Is it much to ask for options to turn off driver arms or steering wheels? Is it much to ask for a physics model as good as one that is 14 years old? Is it too much to ask for a little rain? Is it too much to ask for decent AI? Is it too much to ask for flags and rules? Is it too much to ask for a little more immersion and realism?

I posted this on day one of the FM4 site going live - it was mentioned in some of the gumpf if you were prepared to read it.

One thing that did surprise/concern me was the apparent lack of a "node" over the middle of the UK (i.e. roughly where Silverstone is) - only Dunsfold in the south (for the TG Test Track).

[edit] Ah no, now I see it. It looks like the locations where events are available to you are on large nodes and the rest of the locations have a small node. Looks like there are a lot of locations in the States now.

Forza 3 had Laguna Seca, Sunset, Maple Valley, Road America, Road Atlanta, Sedona and Sebring. That would make seven nodes for the USA.

With the addition of Indianapolis and Infineon, that gives us another two locations in the USA.

Through the magic of investigative cartography, I bring you this!

By checking the locations of various circuits against Google Maps and looking at the nodes shown in the video above, it looks like there may be 3 currently unannounced circuits to come - Fuji, Spa and Hockenheim. The least confident one is Hockenheim because the placement is slightly off, but it's the closest to the node that I can find. Fuji is perfectly placed for the node, though would surprise me if it's in. Motegi and Tsukuba are geographically so close they would essentially share the node, so it may be creative re-mapping on Turn 10s part.

Go to my Flickr to see it in even higher detail.

Fujian I don't know, but Spa and Nurburgring are only about 30 miles from each other. We already have Nurburgring so the node could be that, not Spa. Sorry

And what you have labeled as ''Sedona'' cannot be correct. That has to be Maple Valley, as its right on the USA/Canada Border.

Sedona is situated in the West of the United States, its in a desert type environment, somewhere like Arizona or Utah. So that would suggest that Sedona has been dropped for FM4.

Oh, hang on, Google Maps bit Wink

Ugh, you guys posted too fast - I already relabelled the Sedona to the correct location (got messed up) and it should have been Road America up there. The Nurburgring already has 2 nodes there where 3 are shown, the 3rd to the West is what I suspect to be Spa.

There's a curious lack of South America and Australia on that map don't you think? Maybe they don't like the southern hemisphere at Turn 10.

Or they could just be really bad at geography, in which case the Hockenheim suspect could be Brno! Laughing

Brno would be further East, its right down near the Slovak border.

I have seen screenshots of Hockenheim too, so I guess we can say that its in there for sure!

Good question. It could kinda correspond to where I put "Alps", but then where is the Alps node? It can't really be anywhere else!

Ive looked on Google maps and the Alps node could be Mugello as it looks too far south to be the alps. And wasnt the Alps track not based around Switzerland?

Interesting. Looking back at the Gamespot interview with Dan G, there appear to be different builds as, after resizing the two videos to exactly overlay the two maps, the Alps node (which he demonstrates in that video) is missing from the latest vid. I've added it in Yellow and renamed Mugello to correct the error.

Not sure about this, but I'm hearing that not only will the liveries be importable into Forza 4, but cars and credits will be as well (if InsideSimRacing is to be believed).

I don't think cars and credits exactly will be transferable, but I believe its more of a base of how many cars & credits u have in FM3, FM4 will reward you in some way, from what I've read. And I believe the liveries themsleves aren't being transfered, but the bits/vinyl groups that make it up will
