LeMans 2,4 Qualy procedure
Ok starting next Tuesday we shall be starting qualifying for our big race of the year.
We will have 2 qualifying sessions a day (outside of Wednesday), 1 more convienient for our UK members and 1 later on in the day for our U.S. Members. Your nationality does not effect what session you're limited to. (Meaning if you live in the USA you may attend the session more convienient for our UK Members)
You may attend all sessions if you like (as practice) But only one session you attend will count and you must tell the lobby host or race director what session you wish to be counted on.
If you are a practicing car, you must yield to qualifying cars and in no way effect their lap time that includes dive bombing, taking unessesary risks for passes or any contact with a Qualifying car. If such incident does occur penalties may include up to 5 seconds added to your qualifying time!
Sessions are as follows
Tuesday June 28th
Session 1 (8PM BST, 3PM EST)
Session 2 (1AM BST, 8PM EST)

Re: LeMans 2,4 Qualy procedure
But does our first one HAVE to count?
For instance, if I show up to the first session today to practice, but I want the later session to be counted, does the first one count as your official time?

Re: LeMans 2,4 Qualy procedure
The first time you turn up to qualify is locked in as your time - you don't get two bites of the cherry.
You can't run round in a qualy session "practicing" either - as you'll effectively be "traffic" for those who are - again, unfair.
The idea of multiple sessions is to allow as many people as possible the chance to qualify on a day that suits them, so the idea is to pick a session that suits you, and qualify as you normally would directly before a race.

Re: LeMans 2,4 Qualy procedure
Will you posting the times as the week goes on or will you save them until after the last session?

Re: LeMans 2,4 Qualy procedure
Can I practice in any session or can I pick only one and that's that? There seems to be two opposing sets of rules.

Re: LeMans 2,4 Qualy procedure
The first session you do is your official qualifying session. Any session you do after that is practice and is not counted.

Re: LeMans 2,4 Qualy procedure
yes!.... now after the qualy session is done, if any one wishes we can have practice session so people can get their mixed class practicing in if everyone is alright with that. the lobby host that ran the qualy session may not be around do to social obligations so it may or may not fall upon you gents to organize your own practice sessions. Also qualy times will not be revealed until AFTER ALL QUALY SESSIONS ARE COMPLETE!

Re: LeMans 2,4 Qualy procedure
So I can't practice in these sessions until I have qualified? Gonna have to find my team mate and get some laps in over the next few days. I hate practicing on an empty track.

Any objection to us using our Le Mans Classic cars in these practice sessions? I really need to get used to believing my car WILL stop when braking at the "you're mad!" marker board!!
Re: LeMans 2,4 Qualy procedure
If it's a car your racing in any LeMans event this season you're more than welcome! btw I need someone to run the qualy lobbies that run at 8PM BST for all but the saturday sessions. if there are any takers please message chris as i will be at work and cannot get to the messages until i get home well after the qualy sessions have started
