2011 American Le Mans Series

A rather mad end to the race. Very enjoyable, but I wish it hadn't rained that much, i'd have liked to have seen some racing at the end

The ALMS 4-hour endurance race at Road America is today. Coverage starts at 3:45 EST.

WOW! What a finish! Closest in ALMS history after FOUR HOURS of racing! 0.112 seconds!

That doesn't include the last lap passes in GTC, part of which the leader getting called for blocking on the final lap, and getting a puncture on the final corner.

Looking at the track map for the Baltimore street circuit, I've noticed that the pit lane is on the opposite site of the track from the start/finish line.

seems a little odd to have the pits that far away from the Start/Finish line, but probably cannot be helped with the location

It works for Sau Paulo and Mid Ohio.

The finish line at Mid-Ohio is where the pits are. The race itself starts somewhere else but they don't use that start line for the rest of the race.

Baltimore live

The 6 hours of Laguna Seca is on today, 9:30pm BST, and I'll be hosting an XBL party if anyone fancies joining.

The race sees the Gulf Aston return, full spotters guide is already on Andy Blackmores website, and during the race will be an onboard lap of the track on FM4, possible Hindy doing it again.

I fell asleep before I could find out if motors tv finished the progam 2 hours before the end.

Some things to note:

• 4 planned races before Le Mans
  
• The Laguna Seca race will probably be 6 hours again, but it hasn't been confirmed.
  
• First TBA race - Circuit of the Americas? Miller? Montreal?
  
• Second TBA race - Same as the other TBA, BUT it's likely to double with the WTCC when they come to Infineon (as the WTCC date is in September). So it's looking like that'll be a 2 Hour (maybe 2h45m) at Infineon
  
• Petit Le Mans is on my birthday!
