Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
Heard a rumor don't know if it was one of the members here that siad it, but Newman/Haas Motorsport (yes the team from Indycar) is going to be fielding a team in ALMS. don't know the truth behind it but hopefully legit.

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
Well, Newman/Haas won't be doing Indycar in 2012, so I could see them doing ALMS.

I've heard that AMR are shipping a Lola Aston over to America so you never know it could be for Newman/Haas!

So far as I knew, MM are running the Aston again plus the LMPC entry.
Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
Latest ALMS prototype rumors have Muscle Milk running a brand new HPD ARX-03a (same car Strakka will be running) and an LMPC entry.
Newman/Haas are rumored to be running a Lola Coupe' Honda in LMP2.
Black Swan Racing and Conquest Racing (IndyCar team) are rumored to run Oak Nissan LMP2s.

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
Muscle Milk is dropping the Aston as it was just a one-year lease program. The strongest rumor is that they're running the new HPD.
Aston Martin Racing is rumored to be a partial-entrant for the ALMS's bigger races (Sebring, Laguna, Petit) with the Fernandez squad in the old Aston-Lola. However, the team WILL be running 2 Vantages in WEC.
Also, Audi are working to homologize the R8 LMS for ALMS GT racing, but not WEC.
Where have you guys been hearing about these LMP2 rumors?

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
The Aston seems to have been linked to Autocon by Dailyspotscar.com seems unlinkely, but they're usually quite accurate

Completely agree with that sentiment. I get my rumors from all over, both web and person to person.
The Autocon Aston rumor is legitimate, I've heard the lease has already been signed. While it wont be competing for wins, it will still look and sound amazing.
Black Swan are actively looking at LMP2, that is a fact.
The Conquest Rumor may or may not have legs to it, and the same can be said for the Newman/Haas rumor, although Newman/Haas has retained some of its staff...

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
It'll be interesting to see if Dyson can keep up with it. They haven't had much success beating previous iterations of the HPD in the hands of Highcroft. Hopefully they'll get some 2012 spec Lolas and then we can see both them and Muscle Milk at Le Mans. I really really hope that Strakka and MM will be somewhere near the pace of Audi/Peugeot.

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
Love the ALMS, and I can't wait to have Audi in there. I go every year to Road America in Wisconsin. An awesome track and the wife and spend the weekend up there.

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
Well they (as in Al Masoud and Kane) may go as a team but the dyson name wont be attached, just look at this years rolex 24 entry to see dyson wont be involved

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
Doesn't Dyson own the cars? And why wouldn't Dyson himself tag along, they'd need a 3rd driver.

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
look at the daytona entry list looks like they found a 3rd already, all oryx does is provide sponsorship that's all if they werent there there would be no 2nd dyson car.

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
I was under the impression that Al Masoud and Kane were paying for at least some of their seats themselves.
Its disappointing to not see any ALMS prototype teams go to Le Mans anymore, especially when they have automatic invites.

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
now hang on just because Dyson isn't going doesnt mean Muscle Milk arent, keep in mind that HPD is really the only manufacturer to keep with the diesels during a race! i would think that HPD will want the best of the best in their arsenal to attack LeMans and Muscle Milk does have LeMans experience (Lola Judd entered under Charouz Racing Team)

Re: 2012 American Le Mans Series
Its a shame, whilst humaid wasn't much good in a proto, Steven Kane had some pretty impressive runs, wonder what thus means for the chances of 2 dysons for 2012
