Great racing 2night sorry about 2nd race had big crash and had to pop out but close TCC style racing remember I have seen far worse in the real life BTCC for almost 21 years now since the lates 80's lol roll on next round
Re: TCC Meeting 2 Discussion Thread - Silverstone National - 30/08/11
And I managed to do the Lewis Hamilton on the last lap!Richy wrote:None of our cars came out of those races unscathed. In race 2 there was 7 of us in a pack all race bumping each other on the straights, bumping each otehr in braking zones etc etc and at the end of it all we could say was "wow, that was brilliant"

So you all say "Proper TCC racing, crashes and everything," and yet I have 2 little crashes and people have a go at me? I am COMPLETELY done with Forza 3 and shall not take part in any more Forza 3 races until Forza 4.

Johnny know 1 has had a go, yes lobbys can get a little hot under the hood but the racing was fun, dont worry about it
Re: TCC Meeting 2 Discussion Thread - Silverstone National - 30/08/11
I'm glad the general consensus is that people are enjoying the very close racing we've been having. I started testing and developing these rules a very long time ago, so I'm chuffed the way they've worked out.
Duncan, please remember to send me that build.
I had three great races tonight. Race 1 I had a great start and took the lead off the line (KIA is immense off the line), then held Spartan behind for a few laps before I ran wide. We'd built a bit of a gap to the third placed car when I came over all Bruno Senna, missed my braking point and ran into the back of him. I let him recover into the lead, but GTR had caught us and while Spartan scooted off towards the race win, I had a great battle with GTR for 2nd, which I took.
Race 2 again had a great start, while Spartan seemed to fall back into the pack. After a couple of safety cars, I built a huge gap to take the lobby win by some 15 seconds. By all accounts the action in the pack behind me was cracking, and all I could see was the names constantly changing in the top left corner!
Race 3 started well for me as I came through the pack early on to get up to 3rd, then got stuck behind my team-mate, and I really didn't want to lunge in and do a Honda. Meanwhile, both Richy and Gundam were snapping at my heels, and after running wide on lap 6 through turn 1, they got past me. At the end of the lap, I ran wide again out the last corner, and as I reovered I bashed into either Kilroy or JamiEngland, which put my car off into the wall ala Mike Jordan circa 2006. I recovered through the remaining laps, taking about half a second to a second off each lap, but ran out of laps in the end and crossed the line last behind Gary.
Great racing though!

I'm sorry but I disagree.
You can't keep using the excuse of "it's a touring car championship" to think that it's ok to bump and crash into people because I thought that TORA was all about clean and fair racing. I thought thats what were trying to promote.

Sorry for calling you an idiot like that, I guess it was just an honest mistake rather than the usual over ambitious Senna pass!

Re: TCC Meeting 2 Discussion Thread - Silverstone National - 30/08/11
Thanks lobby B. Great racing, contact yes, great overtaking and position swapping, yup. It all happened. Went from a DNF to a race win says it all. Also thanks TORA folks for the safety car ruling. I hope others felt it made the racing better as we all make mistakes and it let's everyone catch back up to race again.
Close and competitive, the cars are well matched. With the safety car made it a perfect racing evening.

Re: TCC Meeting 2 Discussion Thread - Silverstone National - 30/08/11
Dan TCC has always been about bumper to bumper rubbing is racing, I have not seen any driving which is new to the last 6 TCC championships we have ran, yes there were 1 or 2 manovers which would be ? but on a whole its down to the fact the cars are very equal and breaking can be a issue, maybe if we damage back on but the damage model does not work well as its way to sensative

I hope your not refering to me......we did have a MASSIVE crash but that's just racing as I said at the time....I wasn't bothered at all.
I also think see a trend with the moaning and watching someone of the replays back it was like a real touring car race. Constantly saying on your right.....and not actually being there is an issue......of course I am going to block you, try squeeze you wide etc etc.
Some of the moaning about the blocking was.....abit well embarrassing.
On other night it was great racing tonight, cars seem to be very well balance and again I really enjoyed my self.
I just hope everyone lightens up and has fun rather than getting hot headed.....

While I take your point, Dan, the majority of entrants have felt things have gone well so far.
And while I am not having a go, I would point out that your own racecraft has been called into question many times over the years and series we have run. No-one enters this to be dirty racers - go join a public lobby and you'll find plenty of them there, then compare it to what we have here. Everyone, including you, makes mistakes and misjudgements.

Re: TCC Meeting 2 Discussion Thread - Silverstone National - 30/08/11
Scot, I'm not saying that I am perfect, no one is. But having raced here a long time, if I do cause an incident, then I am mature enough to do my upmost to apologise for it! I'll be the first one to jump in and say that I'm sorry! And if I do take a penalty for an incident, then thats fine! At least I'm manly enough to admit it!

That's the only thing that annoyed me, calls to the right or left even though they are not there.
Dan got hot headed over a similar thing at Maple with me, but the fact is, don't make a call unless you are in a drivers blind spot, I can tell where someone is without being told most of the time. If I go for a block, its because I know I have the space to do so. If someone is on the inside of me, i'll give them adequate room and regroup for an attack further down the road.
If you want to get points here, you have to defend! Its as simple as that.
We have all proved we can race with each other, that four-wide moment into Brooklands is an example of that, its proof that we all respect each others position, and it is proof that we all have good spacial awareness.
These claims of unfair blocking are absurd.
And, I would like to add, if I get hit into a slide and lose several places, I expect an apology.. Mr Siddall..

Re: TCC Meeting 2 Discussion Thread - Silverstone National - 30/08/11
M&M Racing had an other great event fielding all 3 cars and scoring 3 podiums over the 3 races. I had a great race 1 and 2 scoring a 3rd and then a 2nd, the car was a bit beaten up but with some heavy racing but was still out for race 3. Race 3 saw a poor race and I wasn't able to make any progress through the field and had to settle for 6th while Duncan go M&M their 3rd podium of the in 3rd.

I will reitarate, Dan. I wasn't having a go. I'm quite sure you will hold your hands up and apologise if you accept you got it wrong. But on as many occasions you have gone off and sulked when things didn't go your way. You've made more comebacks than Kylie Minogue.
