Elements of Portimao and Brands Hatch.
And the left hand hairpin is very similar to the one at Curitiba.

Anywho, great racing tonight, and i'm rather looking forward to Iberia, its a track that suits the Golf quite well I think. Perhaps I can get that elusive win...

Possibly, given the elevation changes, fast chicane and the final tight turn. I've always used the track to test TORA TCC cars and love the speed of it, you've only really three big braking points.

Scot wrote:Race 1 I had a great start and took the lead off the line (KIA is immense off the line), then held Spartan behind for a few laps before I ran wide. We'd built a bit of a gap to the third placed car when I came over all Bruno Senna, missed my braking point and ran into the back of him. I let him recover into the lead, but GTR had caught us and while Spartan scooted off towards the race win, I had a great battle with GTR for 2nd, which I took.
i was pleased with race 1 right up to the Lag out!!! haha.. it was so close.. i took second for about 2 corners and you where back again. hopefully my replay has all that on it.. not just me lagging out.
bring on Iberia..!!

if i get anything for the last lap i aint fighting it, there was a gap, i did get into it, but then i think i locked up or just when wide, so sorry Nicky, my bad.
Some great moves and side by side moments too!!
I might re think, at the moment, I'm not sure. I am not using the TCC as an excuse for anything. I enjoyed most of the racing tonight and didn't really have many crashes until the last race. I will admit to pushing Chris because I got in the corner too fast and couldn't control it. I am sorry for that. Then with Dan, again, locked up, got wide, went wrong, he got stressed, I got annoyed, he had a go at me, I started cursing, ended up on the forum. I am going to have to watch the replay to see exactly what happened. I might be in for the next race, I'll let you know.

I hope your not refering to me......we did have a MASSIVE crash but that's just racing as I said at the time....I wasn't bothered at all.
I also think see a trend with the moaning and watching someone of the replays back it was like a real touring car race. Constantly saying on your right.....and not actually being there is an issue......of course I am going to block you, try squeeze you wide etc etc.
Some of the moaning about the blocking was.....abit well embarrassing.
On other night it was great racing tonight, cars seem to be very well balance and again I really enjoyed my self.
I just hope everyone lightens up and has fun rather than getting hot headed.....
NO!! No way am I referring to you Ian! We had some fantastic races! Was good fun racing with you Ian! And I look forward to some more!

Providing that Forza.net still works, I will try and get a couple of clips of that. That was the highlight of 2011, nevermind the race meeting.

Re: TCC Meeting 2 Discussion Thread - Silverstone National - 30/08/11
I would like to make another point as well. When I accidently tapped Chris in Copse Corner in the 3rd race, I was willing to slow down and sacrifice my own race to let him back through. If I remember the exact words that everyone heard me say:
"I'm sorry mate. Do you want me to slow down and let you back past/through?" Or something along those lines because thats what I would have done.
Just wanted to bring back some dignity!
Many apologies for that Chris.

All I ask for when I get hit is an apology, and Chris gave me zero acknowledgement in Race 2 during the first restart when he made me lose several places at Copse..

Re: TCC Meeting 2 Discussion Thread - Silverstone National - 30/08/11
Having had time to calm down, I am willing to accept any collisons that occured as racing incidents and just move on from last nights meeting.
JohnnyBoy3600, I apologise for lashing out at you. I was on for a good result in the third race but having been tapped twice on the penultimate lap (the same lap) by Ian and yourself. I checked the replay last night. But I'll accept it as a racing incident. If you was in the same position, I'm sure you would understand how frustrating it can be?
Also, I wasn't refering to incidents involving myself. I was also looking in my mirrors to see any incidents between the rest of the field which resulted in collisons or the safety car being deployed.

Re: TCC Meeting 2 Discussion Thread - Silverstone National - 30/08/11
its this simple
dont be stupid making moves (yes you can be brave, BUT BE CAREFUL!)
and i think making one move to defend is the best way to avoid crashes.

Re: TCC Meeting 2 Discussion Thread - Silverstone National - 30/08/11
Y'know, I took Spartan out in race 1 when our braking zones didn't match up. I apologised BEFORE I hit him, because I knew it was coming, then slowed and let him through.
Guess what happened after that?
We got our heads down and got on with it. No moaning, no complaining, no finger-pointing. If anything, it let the pack catch back up, because we were running away with it at the front.
We're here to race and have fun. Mistakes happen, and yes, there are some - shall we say ambitious? - drivers on our roster, but all in all the general consensus was we had a good time.
We've got aggressive drivers who disengage the brain at times and try things that are never going to happen. We've got people who think others should vanish off the racing line because they're coming through, and don't know how to lift and give space. We've got drivers who are quite happy to tap and bash through a race but then chuck a flaky whenever it's done to them. We've got drivers who drive ultra-defensive and then cry foul when someone has to use force to pass them. We have drivers who lose focus and miss braking points, like me with Spartan.
But we also have fast drivers, clean drivers, drivers who are aware of what's going on about them, drivers who give space where needed, drivers who measure and judge their manoueveres, drivers who know when to commit and when not to.
And EVERYONE falls into every one of those categories. If required, I can put together a video showing all those things happening in just the first six rounds of the TCC, but I'd rather not name and shame.
So suck it up and grow a pair, and remember how many times we've heard real racing drivers who've been punted say "that's motor-racing."
I for one am getting annoyed with the whining. Get on with it, and don't ruin another one of these discussion threads with sniping and moaning. you know what to do if there's an incident, PM THE DAMN STEWARDS.
