TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance

The MSA TORA Summer GT Championship concludes this Sunday

Rounds 15th - Silverstone GP - 1 1/2 Hour Endurance 11th September 20:00 Hours BST

Event Itinerary

All races will take place on Sundays @ 20:00 BST.
Please make sure you are online on Forza Motorsport 3 and you have checked that you have no connection issues 15 minutes before the meeting is due to get under way.
Please make sure you have a open NAT setting.
You will receive a invite from your lobby host around 19:50 Hours BST.

Qualifying

Qualifying will consist of 4 flying laps (lap counter will be set to 6 laps)
Collisions will be forced off
Damage will be set to limited damage
There will be a 5 second roll off delay
The Grid will be set to Random
Once you complete all 4 flying laps you will meet in the first corner so that the lobby marshals can take down your qualifying time and conduct scrutineering if required.
Please note that only your best certified lap will be taken in qualifying. If you do not have a certified lap your best lap will count AFTER all certified times have been logged

Times will then be uploaded to the Live Timing application by the chief marshal of the meeting

Race –

The grid will be ordered as per qualifying times.
The grid will form up in race order on the parade lap, this will be instructed by the lobby captain and then the race will start by a rolling start. Cars will stay at 100mph on the parade lap until a pre-determined location where all cars will drop to 60mph and line up side-by-side in a rolling grid. Once you pass the pit entrance the pole sitter can shout "go". Once "go" is called cars may accelerate past 60mph, though there can be no overtaking until the start and finish line.

You will race to the end of the set number of laps and confirm with the lobby host at the end of the race your finishing order.

This round will score double points of the normal TORA points.

As GT racing is a non-contact sport incidents which endanger you or another competitor will be referred to the head steward and appropriate action will be taken.

Damage is set to Limited Damage

Once race results are confirmed Championship tables and results will be updated by the Chief Marshal

im now a maybe have now gotten sucked into a family matter that's going on tomorrow and i have no idea when it'll be done

Well good season everyone. We got 3rd in team championship! Which is good enough. For a team i no longer race for lol.
In future series, if these same cars are brought back i hope some P.I changes are made to make the cars more even. The bmw was the class of the field being the best overall car. The corvette needed help as well as a couple other cars.
So congrats to mopar for his domination of the tora gt.

Had an epic battle with Nicky in the back of B Lobby before diving down the inside of Copse and taking both of us out of the race.

Sorry couldnt make race all, got back later from ILMC, had spliting headache and needed food and sleep.

That was my fault, I closed the door, even though I knew you could possibly be along side. I could have easily given you more room. Sorry.

Congratulations to F4HMOPAR001 for winning the Drivers Championship, along with Black Sheep BMW just pipping my team by 16points to the teams Championship.

i had a something of an uneventful race for myself, except for a moment before i pitted. I brought the Ford GT to Silverstone with a new chassis package where i found 70+lbs i was able to remove from the car and still keep it within the PI limitation(s). Then through practice, was practicing in the 1:52.2's-1:52.5's. Come qually, couldnt do any better than a 1:52.722 (was ready to throw the racing wheel at my crew). Come race time, i hit a 52.1 Early, and was consistently in the 52.3's-52.6's, with ventures into the 52.1's and 52.0's. Then around lap 25-26, as i was realing in the combatting Nissan and BMW of Stonewall and nickyf1, they had made contact into Turn 1, and nicky's Nissan had spun around, and was heading back onto track. i saw a gap between the two cars, and tried to line myself to shoot in between said gap, but miscalculated a tad, and clipped the front of the Nissan resulting in 26% front Aero & 17% side Aero damage. Later that lap, my fuel light came on anyways, so i pitted, and a few laps later, i managed to hit a 1:51.927 to my amazement. (i guess its thanks to running Minimum Downforce) So i kept my head up and tried to keep pulling away from general in 2nd, and i believe the finishing gap was about 20 seconds.

I'm sick of the BMW complaints to be honest, every time I make a pass I have to listen to how it wasn't me but the car. You have to drive the car with quite a bit of finesse in order for the speed to even be worth it, rather than taking a handling car and just zinging around the turns. Driving the best handling car past the worst handling car doesn't make you a better driver, just like driving the fastest car past a slower car doesn't either. Certain cars have their advantages and disadvantages and unless you want a spec series you are going to have to deal with that. We spent a lot of time testing out different builds in order to get it as fast as it was, something I highly doubt EVERYBODY did so there are even going to be some BMW's that are faster than others, that's the fun part about open builds. You guys have no room to complain when you are about 200 horsepower under the limit, you could have sacrificed a little grip to go faster but you didn't so I don't want to hear any more complaints. Thank you.

What do you expect me to say to that? Go build the BMW? When we both end up running the same lap times as we were before you would still find a reason though. It's hard to 'be happy' when you have people undermining you and basically talking down to you in the middle of a race because of the car you are in after spending quite a bit of time with the car to get it to that point.

We were the only two teams that had people showing up for all the races too so why even bring that up as an argument?

i started off with the Spyker as an odd-ball choice, IMO, thinking i could possibly do ok with it, but just couldnt get comfortable with the car. it definitely had grip for Catalunya, but lacked the one nessesity to back the up the grip, and it was power. i felt better at Sebring when i had a hand in tuning for it. but a simple mistake on my part trying to pass Ian into turn 17 in the 2nd race, the Spyker met the outside wall. As pre-qually testing was going on @ Laguna, i just couldnt get the feel down for the spyker there, though my times were somewhat competative to the likes of the PLOW boys. then i switched to the Ford GT, as ive had previous experience with the car in the past and thought that'd work to my favor. there were times @ Road Atlanta i wanted to yell out "Wait For Me!!"
