Re: TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance
Just let it go Face, there's always gonna be someone.
Had an epic race with F4H Carrera, 90 mins of close racing that all came down to the 3 final turns, love it.
Also wanted to say great job with the series Duncan and Simon. The live timing board, race recaps, and the results spreads really added a level of professionalism to the series. Just a shame the participation dropped off so much near the end, but that's to be expected with FM3 on it's last leg. All in all respectful drivers plus competitive cars equals great racing. Well done everyone.
One last thing, special thanks to GLR FACEPALMER and GLR INSANITY for sticking it out through the entire series and in the end coming back to win the Team Championship. Great job guys. Black Sheep BMW

Re: TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance
Yeah it was a great series sorry for getting frustrated but it was something that has built up the whole season and I'm being completely honest when I say that I could get similar if not better lap times with any of the other cars. There was a huge amount of time lost to the other cars in most of the turns and the straight line speed only barely made up for it, we had to really drive this car perfectly in every turn to get the speed out of it, and little mistakes get magnified when your car doesn't handle well. Just keeping up in the turns so you can even think about passing on the straights took a lot. The frustration is coming from the fact that we really did put thought and time into our car and it wasn't a matter of hey this car goes fast lol let's go win. MOPAR didn't even expect to win any races because we were pretty slow when we first built the car but when you put time and effort into something it pays off.

Re: TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance
Congrats guys and I personally want to thank you all for taking part.
Mopar, I will be contacting you and your team mates about how to sort you guys out with MS Points in the states and Chaddy I will get your address off you.
I really hope to see you guys return for Season 8 on Forza 4, which we hope to start early 2012 and hopefully we don't clash with VM, seeing as we know how that will go down.
Seriously guys, thank you. I wish I could have taken part in more races, but work is getting much better at ruining my race schedules .
A bit of parity problems always crop up in series that involve such high powered cars, but in the efforts to remain professional we decided early on that we weren't going to start chopping and changing PIs continuously. Hopefully we will get it right for Season 8 from the get go, but this was still one of our closest fought series yet.

Thanks Richy
On the BMW case i really do feel that car should of maybe just lost 5 or 10 pi mid season to try and even things up just a little bit. I'm rather glad i didnt lose Pi as the lotus had great grip and a ok top speed to back it up.
I used the lotus back in forza 2 to race in the GT3 class when it is in the ISCC.
The car out qualifed the Whole GT2 class and most of GT1 round Suzuka (the only race I entered)
Coming back to the bmw I feel it had a slightly more balanced grip/top speed ratio and the Lotus or Chevy or Ford.

Re: TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance
All cars were balanced fine, a huge ammount of testing and devlopment went into the GTS, no 1 drove the Ferrari, TVRs, I was quciker in the Vette, Lambo and Aston compared to the BMW times I set so I see at driver standards and car setups.
But any way well done and see you all next season 16 player lobbys

Re: TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance
Very well done to our new champion, Mopar001! Very much deserved.
Also, many congrats to Chad for the privateer championship.
If you're looking for an opinion on the GT's, I feel that the rules need to be shredded up and starting again from scratch. I know thats gonna happen anyway with Forza 4.
Never thought I'd say this but I was bored to be honest last night. I knew that winning wasn't gonna happen because those guys would be too quick. But I was shocked to find that I finished over 50 seconds behind. OUCH! Its really disappointing to know that I'm giving it everything I got and to finish that far behind. But at least I can take comfort that it wasn't my fault for the lack of speed. I was pleased with my performance and I couldn't get anymore out of the Corvette if I tried.
As far as I can remember, our GT racing has been about really close racing. But Silverstone defernately wasn't. It might have been for Mopar and Carrera. The only battle I did have was with Simon, but even that was brief. It felt a bit like Plato trying to hold off Boardman in the BTCC at Knockhill. I just felt defencless trying to hold off the BMW.
I've always believed in close racing so I would like to place myself forward to be test driver for the GT3's because I feel this series need sorting out for everyones sake really. But we'll see how Forza 4 plays out when we recieve our copies next month.

Dan, fair enough, but 2 be honest the lack of attaendce last night may of hinderd the race its self, you shoulf of seen the race at motegi last week, that was close and great racing.
Dan testing was completed by the fastest guys on Forza 3, and well if you have a issue I sugest you try beating there times on the leaderboards.
Simon is in charge on the GT3 series, and it has provided close racing all season, Forza 4 no doubt will see rule changes and a througher tetsing team with help outside of TORA will be established.

Fair enough, I haven't participated that much so I can't really judge on one race. But I'll be willling to help you guys out in testing if needed.

This will be the last post I make on the subject, people will still think they didn't get beat though, why don't we just award everybody a trophy and call us all winners?

Re: TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance
I'd say the BMW was the Red Bull of the GT's, very quick but doesnt always win.
Also if the Bmw was so good how come it didnt get all the top places every race? I remember passing Facepalmer at round 3 and if i didnt make mistakes, could of bet him at silverstone and thats in a Lotus ever mind the Vette, Aston or Ford

Re: TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance
Ok, final word from moi, over the course of the series the cars were equal. Each of the cars had there benefits and cons. The BMWs benefit was straight line speed so tracks like Motegi, the BMW would be the car to have. The Porsche was a good all rounder, which made it quick for Catalunya and the Corvette had great grip for tighter tracks. Laptime wise the cars were very equal if not spot on.
The other con of the BMW was it was a car you'd either love or hate. Only a few mastered the car, like MOPAR, but more couldn't get the best out of it

Re: TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance
The BMW was very good in Mopar's hands, and I would expect nothing less. He's an incredible driver and deserves everything he won. I think it was clear that the BMWs were very spead out from 1st to last, so it's obviously not the be all and end all. I know I couldn't get the car and win. No chance.
The BMWs were also the cars that turned up the most, so they scored loads of points compared to the other teams who didn't have either more drivers or didn't turn up as often.
Maybe some of the other cars could have done with a slight PI bump, but most of the faster cars were never really used.

Re: TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance
Sorry if I seem to be over reacting to the criticism but it's really outside things that were magnifying my frustration, as most of you know yesterday was a very emotional day or a lot of us here in the states. I thoroughly enjoyed racing in this series and would gladly do it again in any car.

Had a great race with Mopar last night, just a shame that the BMW is so much faster. Just joking!
Seriously though, It was a great last 10 laps or so as we were so close together, just couldn't quite get you!
Congrats on the championship & Team Championship

Thank you Koenigsegg but i must admit I was sure u'd still beat me!
The thing about the TVR is I was down to join Troff in it but he then didnt end up doing it so i just went with the car with most grip and it turned out pretty good eh!

hmm interesting logic considering xfs showed up at every race (beside the last race where it was just me) and when the one that started quit, i had a replacement that race and for the rest of the season. We did the best that we could have done with that corvette or than any one else did for that matter. It needed a pi change we where always underpowered and never under 3100lbs, so every track but laguna had long straights which benefited almost every car but us. It was a constant up hill battle that was unwinable.

Yeah I know you were very dedicated to the racing, sorry if it didn't seem like I had recognized that. What I meant in general was that there were 2 full teams of drivers turing up in BMWs nearly every race, around 5-6 each race, compared to the usual 2-3 drivers in other makes of car. I know you had trouble getting team mates sorted and I do appreciate that you were in every race. As I said, the BMW sort of became the car to have after pre-season testing had finished. During the build up nobody had run it much, and the Vette was easily the fastest car on the testing lists, with the Ferrari usually second. I dunno what made the BMW the car of choice but these things happen. We will be making sure we have parity over the list in Season 8 as the feeling have been so strong about it. This has still been one of our closest and best seasons so far.

Re: TORA GT Round 15 - Silverstone Britcar Endurance
The Corvette was our 2nd choice in pre-season testing. MOPAR still won at Laguna too when it was supposed to be the worst track for the BMW, we had a lot less HP than usual that race to lighten up the car.
I think some people would be better in certain cars anyways, MOPAR was good enough to overcome the poor handling of the BMW and utilize every last bit of speed in it, meanwhile Insanity and I were a second or two off of his pace, which is a lot. Had we all been in a better handling car it would have been a bit tighter as there would be less chance of sliding through the turns and losing time. MOPAR would still be the quickest of the three but we might have been a bit closer to him.
