TORA MSA Ferrari 458 Challenge Rounds 1 & 2 Indianapolis GP - 23th October 2011 - 8pm

This Sunday (23rd October) will be a special race dedicated to Dan Wheldon who tragically lost his life at Las Vegas Speedway on the 16th of October. Everyone is encouraged to run special paints from Dan's career and the event will be named the Dan Wheldon Remembrance Cup.

To recreate the close and intense racing of the real 458 Challenge the cars we will be using is stock Ferrari 458 Italia cars.

Cars will be forced to stock upgrades and tuning.
All Assists will be available.
Damage will be set to cosmetic.
Safety Cars can only be called by lobby hosts when deemed appropriate after a serious racing collision involving 2 cars or more.

Points will only be scored by drivers, no teams involved, and the entry to the series will be relaxed. Points will be scored as per TORA standard.

To enter, simple post in the Entry Thread that you wish to take part in the series. We will then endevour to keep the list of names up to date and to send out invites to everybody who is on that list come race night.

Qualifying will be set to 6 laps, Qualifi to the start of LAP 6
Collisions will be forced off
Clean laps will NOT take preference over dirty laps, due to the nature of the cars and the fact that we are still learning the game.

Race 1 - Grid will form up in Qualifying order

Race 2's starting order will be set in the finishing positions from Race 1.

Damage for both races is cosmetic though normal TORA rules and regulations apply.

After the 2nd Race there will be a 5 lap Wheldon Parade for those who would like to show a tribute to Dan.

As some of you would like to do a Indy Race as well in the P1 Acura Chaddy will be hosting this race after the 5 Lap tribute.

Schedule for the race night as per below -

8:00 Qually
*10 mins gap for time collecting*
8:15 Race 1 for 20 mins
*5 mins break*
8:40 Race 2 for 20 mins
*5 mins break
9:05 Wheldon Parade
9:15 - 10:05 "Indy 50.0" Min Race

Dan Wheldon tribute paints on 458 and the P1 Acura would be welcomed during the event.

Will definetly do the Wheldon 50.0, just need an Acura, and some paint. And unless theres 2 of me, I am racing as a double!

I will probably not run the Acura race, the Ferrari races will be enough for me.

would drivers who are doing the 50.0, would you like stock tuning? i was able to get 219mph out the acura with low downforce.

without tuning it hits 205 with alot of tuning i think 222 is on i think

The real things go about 230 on the straights.

yeah but i dont think we ll get to that but im getting 219 and im flat all the way round

I'd be inclined to say that for this event you'll be ok as lots of people are running special paints. We'll get the TORA stock sent to you for the next races though. Oh and well done on getting your pics into Week in Review...AGAIN!!

have you updated the tora liveries, like the number plates and the windscreen strip, or are we still using the 2011 stickers?
