Re: TORA GT24 - Times
I'm not sure if I can sign up or not, but I ran a few laps with the Maserati to be different, hit a 26.6 stock with more left in it. Is that any good?

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
1:26.3xx
I've managed to improve the Aston a lot. On the advice given by F4H Koenigsegg and tweeking the build, I've managed to improve the car by at least half a second per lap since the last race.

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
Happy for you that it worked Dan. Did you only add torque, or also something else?
Hopefully I didn't help you to much. Still want to finish infront of you.

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
Now Now. We can't give away our secrets about the car build can we? lol
But one thing I can spill is I've ajusted the gear ratio's for Indy so it's within the torque band, because our car revs at 7,500rpm I think but the maximum torque ends at 6,000rpm.

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
is it better to have a powerful car that is also heavy, or a lighter car that has less power for Indianapolis?

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
For Indy, you'll want a car that has both good top speed and good handling. Reason being is if you don't have a car that handles well, then you're top speed is going to be slow because you can't exit the corner with enough momentum. On the other hand, you don't want a car that is too good in the corners because when you get to the straights, you will be overtaken and won't be able to hold your position.
As a reference, my Maserati is very close to the upper weight limit not that I want it to be. It has exactly 599 HP. But, it's stable and has good top speed, so in my eyes it's a good choice for this track and for Silverstone. It may not be so good at Suzuka but it'll do.

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
finally broke into the 26's last night (1:26.999) Huzzah! and made a few more changes this morning, and knocked off a bit more, and am happy with how comfortable it is now then where the Ferrari was earlier in the week. i think i can nail a fast one for the 1-flying Lap Qually

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
anyone curageous enough to post times for Suzuka at this point? i seem to be having a slight issue with the hairpin. depending on my entrance, i will end up understeering out (like the 2nd hairpin at Tsukuba). But, my best lap thus far is a 2:07.7xx even after understeering out of the hairpin. i know if i get a good exit, my time will be better

I dont know about you guys, but I reckon the GTR's going to be god awful around here. maybe it'll be just me.
No matter though, I'm at a 2:08.661 at this time.

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
I must be an absolute rubbish tuner.
Reason being is that I've tried the BMW Z4 tune that EZT Trooper gifted me earlier to test and I'm running the same laptimes he did at Indianapolis. Where's a lightbulb when you need one (after I've figured something out)?
Anyway, has anyone tested for Silverstone yet?

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
I've done a bit of preparation this time round, I think I've got the car well balanced but I'm no pro, but I'm dipping into mid 1:58s. I still expect to be off the pace
Re: TORA GT24 - Times
I am going to do some laps tonight, run some pace laps in the Z4 to se what might be good, then put some TLC into the M6.... and I am going to mess with a Jaguar since I think that might end up being really good, I can't believe none of you brits made one!

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
base tune giving me 1:58:6's but I reckon there's another few tenths in that tune at the mo
Re: TORA GT24 - Times
Last night I surprised myslef when I ran a 1:56.10x in my 458, but the first couple corners are very dodgy, so I need to keep working on it to get it right

Re: TORA GT24 - Times
Knowing my luck, I won't be able to achieve this laptime again, but 1:55.2xx around Silverstone in the Virage.
