Re: 2012 Grand-Am (Rolex and Continental Tire)
How would the R8 LMS be balanced to be equal with the Grand AM 458 that is slower than the road going 458?
Isn't the R8 LMS the same car that Audi races against the GTE spec 458 at the Nurburgring?

Re: 2012 Grand-Am (Rolex and Continental Tire)
The Grand-Am cars are slower cause they're stuffed with an American driver. WWHOOOAA!!!!!
Re: 2012 Grand-Am (Rolex and Continental Tire)
Aye, but the GT3 cars that raced at the Nurburgring were definitely juicing much more fruit at a higher rate than normal..
If that analogy makes any sense at all.
GT3 cars tend to be packed with driver aids, and with the right tyres, they can match a GT2 car easily. In 2009, the GT3 cars were lapping quicker than the GT2 class cars in the FIA GT, all thanks to driver aids and tyres.
For Grand-Am, the car will have much less aero, no driver aids, less power and possibly skinnier, less grippy tyres.

OMG looks like they have used a mosler orignal design lol
Re: 2012 Grand-Am (Rolex and Continental Tire)

Re: 2012 Grand-Am (Rolex and Continental Tire)

The only way that car is going to look good is if they put a paintjob like this on it.

Re: 2012 Grand-Am (Rolex and Continental Tire)
I really like it! Has the late-90's GT1 look about it, reminds me of the LMP Evo proposal from a few years ago too, which is a great thing. I can't wait to see what other DP's we'll get!
EDIT: That LMP Vette I was talking about:
And, you all know FINE well that this is much better looking than the previous itteration of the Daytona Prototype.
Are Lola building a new one? I'd quite like to see this car shape with the Lola style nose.
