TORA Clubman Cup Meeting 1 - Rules & Discussion
Hey guys, this is something I have been working on for awhile and it will probably make up the lowest class for our TEC races at Silverstone and Nuburgring. I think it will also be a bit of fun.
I need to get an idea as to what these cars can and can't do, as me testing alone doesn't help in the long run. So with that in mind I want to run a one off race night, possibly to lead into a series, for the TORA Clubman Cup.
These cars are low powered, low-ish weight and a good mix of old and modern cars using both front and rear wheel drivetrains.
This will be run on Tuesday the 5th of June at 8pm BST, on the alternate Tuesday between two TCC meetings. It will consist of three 10-15 minute races on three different tracks to get a feel for how the cars work and to mix things up a bit. As its a cup, the driver who scores the most points on the night wins. There will be no qualifying and I will set the lobbies to random grids to make it a bit more interesting. I'm not sure whether to put damage to limited or cosmetic as, like the GT mini series I want to see what the cars can do. There is quite a bit of trust required from each other in this series as I would like to regulate Tyre Width, but we'll see how it goes for now.
Tracks
I think for the night I will probably use Silverstone International, Nurburgring GP and Indianapolis Road Course to try get a mix of handling and top speed tracks. We might even do more if people are interested enough.
Rules
Class = B
PI = FWD - 470 / RWD - 460
Power = 201-249bhp
Weight = 2,201-2,699lbs
Year = 1980 onwards
Type = Production
-FWD PI 470
-RWD PI 460
-Race Brakes
-Race Suspension
-Race Rollcage
-Sport Tyres
-Tyre width of 225 maximum unless the cars come standard with wider ones.
-NO Forza Front and Rear Wing (Adjustable Aero) *this includes removing any standard adjustable aero i.e. the Mercedes 190E*
-NO Race gearbox
-NO AWD
-NO FWD to RWD Conversions
-NO Centrifugal Superchargers
Cup
As this is just a bit of fun and because I want to see a huge variety of cars there will be no teams for the night, individual drivers only. I encourage everyone to pick different cars or ones that they think will be fun to drive.
Car List
This is by no means all of the cars that are possible, just all the ones I have built up. Some cars are missing such as the 1991 BMW M3 and 1982 Lancia 037 Stradale as they were stupidly quick in testing and will not be eligible. Also as a note, for this series I don't want to include cars that are currently in the TCC so those cars won't be eligible.

Sounds fun.
I would probably jump into the 2003 Mini Cooper.
Just let me know when anyone wants to run these cars.

Re: TORA Clubman Cup Meeting 1 - Rules & Discussion
Ummmmm, not for the one off. I would like to see everyone's TORA number on their cars and the URL or logo somewhere but I'm nt really that fussed. I just want to see how these cars all work together with other people building them.
Re: TORA Clubman Cup Meeting 1 - Rules & Discussion
I think I may be able to do this. I am torn between the Cossie Sierra and the 850R.
Re: TORA Clubman Cup Meeting 1 - Rules & Discussion
My Mercedes fanboy-ism prompts me to use the 190E, which is what I shall be using. I've used Silentalarm's Clio Cup numberbox

What would be the deal on Aspiration?
Because those cars that have access to the Centrafugal will be faster than those that don't.

I'm not sold on that, as I have had more success with NA than I have super and/or turbochargers.
Re: TORA Clubman Cup Meeting 1 - Rules & Discussion
The trouble is with me wanting to keep this series as open as possible there are a number of cars that have superchargers as standard. If I were to lock groups to N/A and Turbo then I would lose a lot of cars I want to see race.
I can put it in the rules that no centrifugal superchargers are allowed to be fitted, however it would require us all to trust each other with our car builds.

Re: TORA Clubman Cup Meeting 1 - Rules & Discussion
Alright, I'm down for this. Sign me up with the '93 Ford SVT Cobra R.
I'm trying to get to Ford level 50 and 1000 miles in a Mustang (I'm at 35 and ~600 so far)

Re: TORA Clubman Cup Meeting 1 - Rules & Discussion
Flyin Mikey J is taking the 1999 Honda Civic Coupe.
I built tunes and tested a few cars, and found this one to be most complimentary to my rudimentary driving style.
If anyone wants to try a Mazda 2, Toyota Altezza, Mazda MX5 Superlight, Volvo 850 or Lotus Esprit Turbo, I'll be more than happy to ship one to you free of charge.
