Not sucking up here, but well done TORA staff for standing your ground on this. Clearly a lot of work goes on behind the scenes that most of us have no idea of, and to come to this scoring system presumably took a lot of work and sleepless nights.
For a moment, I thought I'd stepped into an FOM FIA meeting where we were discussing the regulations for next season; realistically I - like a previous contributor mentioned - have no chance of winning a championship. It's nice to be recognised in the points system though as having taken part.

Oh, and if the slower drivers really don't get as much respect as the "faster" drivers, then it's time to re-evaluate the competitions IMO. Faster does not mean better, and without "slower" drivers there would be no championship.

A suggestion I made to NASCAR last year, as they were beating their chest on "the closest point battle in history" the same yearr they went to 1 point increments from the previous five point increments, was to go to .01 point increments and make it even "closer" next year.

One thing I would encourage... I think the top 2-3 lobbies should ALWAYS have the same number of people. In touring cars we have anywhere from 12-16 people in lobby A... This is not fair. One week someone 13th in qualifying can race for #1 overall points, while the next race the 13th qualifier can only race for 13th place points. As long as the top 2-3 lobbies always have the same number of people I am cool with the points system.

Why only the top two? what about the guys in the lower lobbies, someone being restricted to racing for 65th, when they could be racing for 52nd?

I'm afraid that in practice this just doesn't work for TORA. If I understand correctly you're essentially saying "have a fixed limit/number of cars per lobby, and fill from the top down". If that's the case, I'll give you an example of why this wouldn't work:

- We agree to 14 cars per lobby

- 30 cars turn up to race
- Lobby A has 14 cars
- Lobby B has 14 cars
- Lobby C has 2 cars

Under the current "balanced numbers" system, we strive to have an even number in all lobbies, or to spread the "spares", when the numbers don't divide exactly equally, evenly starting from the top down.

So using the above example,

- 30 cars turn up to race
- Lobby A has 15 cars
- Lobby B has 15 cars

or, if it appears that connection issues will prevent 15 cars, it would be split 10/10/10.

Great point (pardon the pun) Aero.

If not for the huge time excess this would cause, "transfers" would solve the point issue. For example if there are 40 racers at a meet, lock the top twelve in the A, the next twelve in the B, and start 16 in the C. Then you transfer the top four finishers from the C to the B, then take the top four finishers in teh B and move them up to the A. ...Problem is the races would have to be concurrent rather than simultaneous.
