The DTM, fun times



Hello all, this is Zeta0085 here announcing an open house styled event by my car club. As Our 2012 season of different styled racing events are coming to a close in September, our car club would love to have some of TORA's members partake in this. The event will take place in One night, and will be a total of six races with a low number of laps. I will be hosting the event at my co-leader's house as his internet connection will be stable enough to host 16 entrants. If more than 7 entrants attend, the race replays will be recorded and made into a form of televised segment similar to what I did in 2010.

Date and time
The event will take place on Sunday, August 5th. The lobby will open at 10:30pm eastern and start at 10:45pm. I am expecting this event to last at most 30 - 45 minutes if everything runs smoothly.

Lobby Setup
- Collision detection set to ON

- End timer will last Two minutes

All cars listed are open to all entrants. They must remain STOCK. No upgrades or tuning allowed!

As our club is chasing the 2012 championship title, any position we finish will affect the standings.

There will be a 3 minute intermission after each race for me to collect and add up the points while allowing drivers to take a small break.

Rules
This event is privateer only. I am not allowing teams as this is going to be a max of one lobby.
I ask that the racing be kept as clean as possible. Intentional cause of wrecks will result in a deduction of 2 points per race. If it persists after 3 races, the entrant will be either asked to leave or be awarded no points. If there is lag, the penalty will be waivered.
Even though a headset is required, I still felt the need to point it out
There will be no warm up lap/rolling start on the first lap. As soon as the timer reaches zero, the race begins.
In regards to custom racing liveries; entrants can use a real life racing livery or something SIMILAR for their car. Just make sure it has that registry number included((TORA, Dekra, or a regular racing number)). If there's a racing livery entrants have made themselves, that is more than welcome.
ONCE 16 ENTRANTS HAVE SIGNED UP, REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE UNLESS SOMEONE DROPS OUT.

Hi all, time for a request from everyone who's entering. I plan to make a "starting grid" when I'm able to begin recording footage after the event. To give an example of what I'm requesting:

This is early to say, I'm hoping this doesn't turn out like the last open house event I hosted. All of the newcomers dropped out before the first race started. : x

We shall see what happens in the final week leading up to the big event.

HeDropsTheSoap has messaged me tonight in regards to attending, it's in the "maybe" category.

Contacted a friend of mine who helped compose a music score for the 2010 DTM event I recorded. He has generously sent me a remix of an old american racing intro. Wonder how it'll sound once I attempt to record some test footage.

Tested all four cars out. Torn between Mercedes and Opel.
Just wondering, you folks base your choice on lap times or how the car feels? While the Mercedes is one second faster than the Opel during my Catalunya National run, the Opel seemed to handle some of the turns like La Caixa better.

I chose the Merc because it looks better and I already owned it.

For me I like how the Audi handles. I own the Mercedes but its a handful to drive.

And because I can, here's the opening I used during Forza 3's DTM event in 2010.

Our fifth club member Dejected Racer comes out of retirement to participate in the DTM. Excitement level has gone through the roof.
I have chosen my car as well. Privateer team name still undecided.
The track list has been re-organized to match the 2010 season.

You don't have to use your actual TORA registration number for this one. It can be similar to the DTM Dekra design or if it even has a racing number on the car, it's golden.
