Like I said in a previous post I did do my penalty this race.
I dont think messing up a superpole lap and starting last can be classed as having served a penalty that wasnt applied. Andy didnt actually notice this it was me from looking through the results to see how people got on and who won what lobbys as i wasnt able to attend. Would a small ounce of decency to just say ok i can see it wasnt and hold your hands up to much to do rather than blow it out of proportion?

Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 6 - Infineon Raceway Long (9th Sept)
It actually should be being classed as a served penalty. It doens't say in the penalty that if you qualify last in the superpole (or the last 4-5 positions), then the penalty is not applied.

I get were your coming from but as it was not applied in the first place. Had someone qualified on pole they would of escaped the ban and took the position. For me rules have to be enforced to keep it fair for everyone weather circumstances played out the way they did or not it still wasnt applied.

My understanding was that a 5 place penalty was applied to both the qualifying times (which sets the lobby order), and then again in Superpole.

I would like to add something to this discussion..Richy59 wrote:The stewarding exists for a reason, to ultimately improve driving standards and race etiquette within our racers.
We did take note before the race that penalties had to be served, but we missed out on adder.
It is good that our members are pointing out any slip ups and issues that we missed and need to come to our attention. I don't appreciate people trying to call each other out for playing by the rules and following the stewarding guidelines. If you don't want a penalty then drive better and safer on the track, and maybe this mess won't happens again.
My opinion is that if someone has a problem about a decision that was made by the stewards, they should point it out to the stewards in a PM and not start the discussion on the forum, because it will lead to a lot of unwanted discussions..

Yep, but rules also have to be clear and visible to keep it fair for everyone. Looking at the stewards decisions you can see e.g.:CQR CHRiS wrote:... For me rules have to be enforced to keep it fair for everyone ...
"5 Place Grid Penalty" or
"5 Place Qualification Penalty"
What's the difference? How are these penalties applied? Also it usually reads "to be served at the next GT race". So what if the driver misses the next GT race? Or if the penalty was missed by officials which isn't the driver's fault? I think some clarification is needed.

Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 6 - Infineon Raceway Long (9th Sept)
That's a very valid point tsaFoot - for example, TPR B0x was unaware that his 5 place penalty 'rolled over' to the next round and that skipping a round does not negate the penalty, so more clarity is required in the rules in this area.

Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 6 - Infineon Raceway Long (9th Sept)
Just to let you know staff are outside the steward process this is a independent group from the staff, and the stewards are doing a fantastic job.
Yes the penalty should of been outlined in fact when a race thread is set up now we will have which penalties are to be taken at this race meeting.
The Grid Penalty going by MSA rules is based on the final qualification penalty but this is been reviewed at present thanks to feed back here, which the staff and stewards appreciate.
I have asked for when race threads are set up any current outstanding penalties that are to be served are made apparent etc.
If you do have suggestions for the stewards process please contact a steward etc etc

My race 1 was good after a Terrible Quali's (12th)managed to get P6.
Race 2 however not so great Good start avoided a incident but found a car impacting my rear at the next turn damn porsche design with engine ion the rear....ended up 12th unlucky to Bloody cain who lagged out leading Race 1, and Gunnerman1100 who lagged out ahead of me with 3 corners till the end.
Anyways sorry if my hosting skills were shamefull. lol
Incredibly unlucky day for me. Qualified 2nd in first race. Took lead around lap 2 or 3, extended a 1200+ foot lead....then, up comes an extremely laggy lap car on lap 9 who I had to ask to please move over to the side so I wasn't damaged passing him. As soon as I got past him my screen froze!!! I was direct connected and know for sure I DIDNT lag out. It was the lagging lap car that outted me. I'm sorry but...if someone is lagging so horribly that they can't be passed and they're a lap down then shouldn't they back out to prevent ruining other drivers races? UGH...so...instead of cruising to a win in the first race I get a DNF, crap points and start last in the second race. Seems like it would be fair to give someone their running position if they hold a specific distance to the car behind and finish a set percentage of the race. I did however manage to move up to 4th damage free by the end of the last lap, second race. I still believe and have proven in a couple of rounds now that there just isn't enough time to come from the back to the front. If I was able to open up a 1200+ foot lead in the first race I should have been able to catch the lead car in the second race. I was haulin azz in the second race but still couldn't close the gap fast enough. Just to clarify...was it TORA's intention for the first race winner to have a conceiveable chance to get through the field to win the second race also?
Anywhore...Lobby D was fun...great racing and great hosting. I just need to figure out what's happening in my qually's because I ran an average 1:33.500 in the first race with a fastest clean lap of 1:33.32. My qually time was only 1:34.7 although my last two laps were "dirty" .
One last thing...the count down start as usual...was terrible. The 3-2-1 count was choppy and cars took off sporatically. We used the Drivers Ready...GO in TASCAR and it worked flawlessly. Please implement this start procedure.

I know mate, that GT40 is too fast on the straights, so think i'll struggle to keep up at Suzuka.
Hope there's no hard feelings regards Nurb. I was pissed off when I put in th SI. There really was no other choice for you on track.
You defo deserve something from Race 1. Great drive.
Apparently the guy in the Audi LMS has lag issues every week, he defo should've got off track at Infineon, given the tightness of that course.
If you watched the race 1 replay from my car, he also slams on the brakes at the start of lap 1 on the start line, he's lucky I didn't total his car and mine.
Also, the starts, can it not simply be:
"Form Up" - Race host
"Ready" - Final car on the grid to signal they are in position, then immediately
"321 Go" VERY CLEARLY & Loud from the pole sitter.
Forget the S&F line, "Go" means race, surely this would stop the odd person braking in worry of passing someone before The S&F line. I know i've had to do it and it's annoying, it's not my fault some cars have a better pull away!

No hard feelings bro. We've had some great races in the past. I'm not sensitive and I definitely don't hold a grudge. I was pissed when I initially saw there was a SI because I didn't think I did anything wrong. I can understand your initial reaction. I really did try to get out of your way bcuz I saw you were getting pinched in.

I uploaded lobby D race 2 to my storefront. It's worth watching from my cockpit view. It's a real butt-clincher! Also...in the future if I accidentally hit someone please refer to this replay before you slander me and start one of these who hit who battles. Mistakes happen. Multiple similar mistakes is insanity and should be dealt with harshly. Can't stand dirty, impatient drivers.

DJ, you know I'd already won by then, I'd eased off by lap 9 or 10. Was still running low 1.34's tho.
Either way, good races in lobby D.
Cain, I look forward to our next exchange.

Not sure why I'm so late in remembering to say this but I wanted to give a little shout out to ATR DAN for the way he conducted himself when organising A-lobby on Sunday.
Before the racing began the lobby was very raucous and becoming increasingly impatient but Dan managed to keep his composure and ensure that we were all briefed on the race ahead, a difficult job under the circumstances.
