Delayed for ages because it's too wet. Cars finally go back out on track and instantly switch to inters.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Interesting end to the season with the race long threatening weather. Great time to be a Vettel fan, even if I think his sponsor's products taste like 'test positive' urine samples.
Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Someone tell Vettel he can be bigger than another record...
I hope he can see who is in his mirrors....

I"m a big fan of Vettel, though I believe today he waisted an opportunity to give back to Webber the victory he stolen ito him n Malesia...

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
^^^
As if Vettel would do that and waste a chance of equalling one of the sport's longest records. Mark probably wouldn't want a gifted win anyway.
Button is driver of the day, 4th in a shoddy Macca that shouldn't even be near the podium - although at the expense of Massa - who I was gutted for actually. Probably the last time he'll be in quick machinery too.
Chilton 100% race classification - not bad eh?

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
As great a job as Button did today, Perez bettered him with his 19th to 6th run... and the kid doesn't even have a ride for 2014
But I have to worry about Grosjean: he is signed with a team that faces uncertainty at best, as Lotus is deep in debt, and so far all potential cash sources have proven shady at best. IF PSVAwhatever buys Maldonado a seat, it comes with an asterisk saying that "none of the 30million pounds are to be spent on prior debts."

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Very strongly rumoured, infact, almost confirmed that Perez will be with Force India in 2014. Forcing Di Resta out and he's said he's looking at external options, either back to DTM or to Indycar.Flyin Mikey J wrote:As great a job as Button did today, Perez bettered him with his 19th to 6th run... and the kid doesn't even have a ride for 2014

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
In the US' F1 broadcast, and on some websites, they are saying Hulk is to return to FI with Sutil as his teammate.
The only official team statement, actually a quote from the team owner says "We do not release our driver line up until the team Christmas Party in December." Which literally means do not believe anything you see until he has said it himself.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
If I were Grosjean I'd be very worried. The quantum
Deal is incredibly fishy to me, Ijaz not a man to trust. As said by Mikey any money from PDVSA by Maldonado will not be for debts. Think F1 May be down to 10 teams next year.
As for Perez and Hulk, strongly rumoured the pair will be at Force India. That'd be a great lineup if the team can build them a good car. Maldonado or Sutil for the remaining Sauber seat alongside Sirotkin or Petrov (if Sirotkin doesn't get his super licence) while I'm hearing from a friend at autosport (who like me also raced against him) that di Resta is seriously considering the Ganassi drive in Indycar

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
^ You raced with DiResta? Cool.
I never got to race against any F1 drivers, but have raced with Kevin Harvick (what a jerk through and through) David Gilliland (helluva nice guy) and Sam Schmidt (Indycar owner after near fatal paralyzing accident, also a very nice guy)

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
I was a year or two too late for Lewis, but di Resta yes. James Calado pushed me off when I was taking my MSA Kart licence test. Raced against Alexander Sims, Dean Stoneman, Lewis Williamson, Moneybags Chilton, Alex Brundle. I've got a picture somewhere of me sharing a track with Rubens Barrichello from 1998, I'll post it up if I can find and scan it

And going stateside Mike Conway, Stefan Wilson, Jack Hawksworth I've raced too. Also had the pleasure of meeting Sir John Surtees (raced Henry), Damon Hill, Martin Brundle, high-fived Johnny Herbert and Dan Wheldon.
was also witness to someone chucking a Cadet engine through John Buttons motor home window.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
I once got drunk with Dick Trickle, was the tire specialist for Bobby Allison for a weekend, and told Darrell Waltrip that I am "not a fan".
Had a long convo (30 minutes) with Richard Petty after a win that cost him a postrace radio interview when I was a kid, before there were live TV broadcasts. And as a tot was held on the top step of the podium by Dan Gurney... damn I am old.

Reckon CGR will take on Di Resta, they have Dixon and Kanaan so they could train PDR up as the next big star.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
As long as Di Resta accepts that step down from midpack F1 to Championship caliber Indycars.
Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Perez is rumoured to be Indycar bound, I think that one would work because there'd be a stronger fanbase for him at every race...

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
A talented Mexican driver in Indycar would be a good thing, and with Perez there have been flashes of brilliance between some rather Maldonadoesque moments.
