Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - Lap Times
Could anyone in an SLS let me know if a 5 or 6 gear set up is better at catalunya please. Or anyone with good advice as i know this gearbox is holding me back.
Getting 1.34s in sprint conditions, On last seasons pace im 4 seconds of the pace :/
I know once I get a handle on the base tuning I can adjust fairly competently, Its the initiall seting up that takes me forever!

Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - Lap Times
Don't know about the SLS, but on our M3 we used a six gear setup, never shifted below second if i remember correctly.

It'd be weird seeing BG in anything other than the M3. I still don't like the reason it was dropped

Had a quick run around in the Z4, think it is a worthy successor to our M3, like the handling on it a lot!

Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - Lap Times
Not liking the speed of the Aston at sunset, 2 seconds off Mr beanz is a joke to be honest.

What on earth are you doing up at that time, William!?BG Wumba wrote:Had a quick run around in the Z4, think it is a worthy successor to our M3, like the handling on it a lot!
Aye it did, it was hugely fast to be honest. What penalty was that with Chaddy?BG Smithy wrote:In test session t'other day Aston ran a 1.29.9 around Sunset.FranchittiFan wrote:Not liking the speed of the Aston at sunset, 2 seconds off Mr beanz is a joke to be honest.

Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - Lap Times
think the 1.29.9 was with 5% front grip, must have been changed to 10% with it being so damn fast

Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - Lap Times
1:31.5 in the 458 for me with correct power HC. i'd be happy if i could dip into the 30's and i'm sure its there, i only adjusted the aero and final drive as that's all i know about really.

Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - Lap Times
The Aston's acceleration is what was doing the damage. The Z4 was slightly faster at the very top end as you approach the line at Sunset but most tracks aren't that long.
There were a whole host of handicaps tested and I think the increased 10% front grip penalty brought it more in to line with the rest of the cars.
I still think the Aston is the car to beat at Sunset but the front grip handicap will be more telling at tracks like Nurburgring GP imo.

Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - Lap Times
I've been doing some testing with my friends at CQR, and can confirm that the Sprint cars (race tyres) at the handicaps they have are there or there abouts in terms of balance (my times at Catalunya had a spread of 8 tenths from fastest to slowest, Magic's had a spread of 5 tenths). Except maybe the Mosler. Afraid I couldn't get that on the pace at all! Sounds good though!!!!
I'll be moving onto the Enduro setup testing from today, just to check for myself what the balance looks like. The 10% front grip penalty on the Aston has not been made an official change yet, so I want to make sure we're not over-correcting based on one circuit which happens to particularly suit the car's characteristics before announcing that as a definite change.
