Re: SimCity 2013
What is up with this game? I keep seeing that they screwed up the release so there about 20 different versions being pirated.
Re: SimCity 2013
Well, that sucks. I physically own my game i.e. it is in my hands right now, and because of Origin I can't play it as I still have to download and activate it and technically it isn't out until tomorrow.
I'm starting to get this whole 'EA sucks' thing.

Re: SimCity 2013
another ea classic ..... remember bf2 1st patch 24 hours later that had to recall the patch as the patch broke the game !

Re: SimCity 2013
Well, played from about 9am straight until about 2pm without a single issue. Made a few cities, had them working together for residents, businesses and industry. Some oil drilling and trading thrown in there. Then all of a sudden the servers just stopped working, and every server now is 'busy'
I somehow was allowed to continue playing, but since all saves are cloud based and not on your HDD I have no idea when my city saved or what state it's in. I can't be bothered waiting to connect again.
New Canton is a pretty damn nice City though

I'm on Europe West Server 4 if anyone is interested or looking to join at some stage for TORA Land
Re: SimCity 2013
Man, what a way to spend a few hours, haha! Having some serious budget problems, but having fun! Great game!

Re: SimCity 2013
I've managed to keep my budget pretty in the green on each city I have done, but it's not easy to roll it in. My sims wealth have all gone up so my casinos are loosing loads of money
Re: SimCity 2013
I'm having to stop building stuff... keep running out of money.
My cities on a river, but it's not what I thought it'd look like after a while. It's cool how the city grows. My first apartment buildings are going up!
I'll be on later for some region play if you're up for it!

Re: SimCity 2013
Can't, got Sebring duties until 2am
I'll be on tomorrow, just had a quick 30 mins but Europe West 4 which I had 3 cities on has been inaccessible, so played on Europe East 6 (I think) and started an ore Mining Industry town. I love it, my gripe is that the city sizes are just too damn small.

Re: SimCity 2013
It was all going so well, population growing, city expanding into the bay, commercial sector booming, then a sh*tstorm of crime came my way...

Re: SimCity 2013
Well, I can honestly say I've had no server issues thus far.
Mostly because I'm using Oceanic 2 I also didn't realise that using a different server means you have to start again!
Still though, my soon to be abandoned city had a good run. Some tall buildings are starting to go up, and I completed a streetcar line around the city (more Manchester style, with few on-road sections, and made up of stand alone linked sections )

Re: SimCity 2013
How hardware heavy is this because I'd like to to try it, just don't want to put the effort in if it's going to look pants.
Re: SimCity 2013
I've got 6gb of RAM, and an nvidia geforce GT 640M, and it runs really well on high settings, and it looks gorgeous, especially considering my laptop's an ultrabook!
My laptop isn't the highest spec, but it's in the mid to high range, and I run pretty graphics intensive software like Solidworks on it a lot.

Re: SimCity 2013
I've seen it being played on reddit with some low spec machines and it's not pretty, but it looks functional. it's designed to be very pretty on high end machines, but also very playable on low end ones.
Re: SimCity 2013
Well, I though it would be busy today and I haven't been able to get onto either of the two servers I've beee playing on. Can't be bothered with the tutorial and starting a new city on it's own again. Will just wait until Europe West 4 is back online. Silly online only server games.
Re: SimCity 2013
So let me get this straight,
If I buy Sim city from the shop (43 quid at game, I can tell you exactly where to stick your game), I wont be able to play it offline?

Re: SimCity 2013
Nope, and even if you physically own it you can't play it until you unlock it via EA.
Re: SimCity 2013
Was working fine all night after the hiccup the afternoon. I'm on Europe West 4, my region is pretty full though. We could start TORA one? I live developing my current cities though, however I have a huge homeless problem in one of them.
The game plots are just far too small
