Smart Cup
Hi guys
Putting the feelers out for a Smart Cup.
I've created a car that has PI 400, 153hp, 1797lbs, top speed around the 125mph mark, with no setup adjustment allowed. Could possibly use it as an entry level series coz the times the top guys are doing in GTs is hellish daunting.
What I'm imagining is an hour long session, 10 mins quali, 2x15 min races, quali dictates race 1 grid, reverse grid race 2. This is only a draft if anyone has any suggestions if be happy to hear them.
Possibly running Tuesday / Weds evening GMT?

Re: Smart Cup
Tuesday is an official TORA raceday, mainly for the Touring Car championship when it comes around again, but the MR2 mini-series is on it's way.

Re: Smart Cup
I was thinking of maybe doing two tier, restricted as per above and an open class to do whatever you like max PI of say 500 :-)
No longer than 2 miles, no ovals :-)

Re: Smart Cup
get yourself some rules and a calendar made up and see here it goes , i would suggest not to go B500 keep it lower.
Re: Smart Cup
Well for the first season I'd keep with the 400 PI but if it got popular we could open up to an open class. I'll draft something up tonight and put it up tomorrow AM

Re: Smart Cup
Id just keep it to the one class or least till you get numbers sorted to see if enough people join both classes.Think 400pi for these cars should be ok but i wouldnt go any higher, personally id maybe make it a bit lower maybe 350pi.Slower cars car make for great racing.Need to do alot more lower pi racing on TORA.

yeah keep it simple to start with and see how your first season goes.

Re: Smart Cup
Hi. I've tuned the car back to 375 PI and am happy with the cars performance, only slight issue is the tendency to jump on its roof when you hit a high kerb :-) so I'm thinking of a sub table counting the amount of times a driver rolls it over a year with an upside R number for the winner!
In all seriousness the car is ready and I've created a sticker and setup pack for distribution. What I'd like to know is if anyone is interested in entering, what night they're available (GMT 8.30pm kickoff for 1 hour) and how many rounds should we run, I'm thinking four for the first run through.
Cheers

after having tuned these badboys for Jr TCC last year, it was friggen unstable as heck and easily flipable.
I say don't go over PI 420
Re: Smart Cup
Yeah I went a bit lower, 375, handle nicely, little unstable if you overcorrect but otherwise ok, gonna leave sunset club off the calendar as if you touch any of the kerbs you go over. Amusing At first gets boring quickly :-)
