Re: MSA TORA GT World Championship - Results & Standings
Is there any plans to count GT3 and GT4 as separate classes in the endurance/world standings? i think it's kind of silly combining them.
With 6 GT4's in the top 9 and certain drivers guaranteed big scores every endurance race, don't you think it's unfair to combine the classes?
This has porbably been brought up before, but what the hell, i think it deserves to be brought up again.

Re: MSA TORA GT World Championship - Results & Standings
I don't personally like the points system... BUT these rules and regulations were published in December, and every team/driver had the chance enter in GT4 for the endurance rounds if they wanted, as we did with the CQR Bulldogs team.

must have been, since I caught it too
Re: MSA TORA GT World Championship - Results & Standings
endurance teams is still broken...the points aren't added or added properly

I understand what your saying Magic, that doesn't make it ok though. I shouldn't have to choose another class to have a better chance in the world championship because it's less competitive. But i guess you wouldn't really have a problem with it seen as though CQR is guaranteed a top 3 finish at every endurance meeting.
GT3 should rightfully stand alone, as should GT4, combining them is.................well preposterous

Re: MSA TORA GT World Championship - Results & Standings
Of course it makes it OK, the rules were set out in December and everyone had the opportunity to chose pick the cars/strategy they thought would have the best overall chance. I saw the GT4 entries were considerably lower and felt that would maximise my teams chances of scoring points. If other people didn't pick up that til 4 months later, that's not really my problem!
But it is still preposterous, but those were the rules we were given to race to...

You could be racing a guy in a different class to win the endurance championship, knowing that you can't affect your rivals race by taking a position away from him, I brought this topic up a while ago but got no response, this combining shouldn't have even happened

Re: MSA TORA GT World Championship - Results & Standings
Personally I agree they should be seperated, but I don't think a fundamental rule change 7/10ths of a way through a series is a) professional b) realistic.

Agreed, so we just need to finish the series and move on to the next one, using what has been learnt from this.
Can't ride the TORA team too hard about this guys, they set the rules out early enough for everybody to have a say at the time, and on balance, considering the other things they seem to get right in the series they run here, I am sure they are allowed to swing and miss on one once in a while right?
Re: MSA TORA GT World Championship - Results & Standings
GT4 should never of been considered in a championship linked to GT3's. It should of been ran as a completely seperate championship on a different night or at least make it so there included in Sprint races to. Im sure TORA will learn from little mistakes though as everyone has pointed them out weather it be PI's or point systems.

The BTCC had a overall championship fought over 4 class in the 80s/90s, I reckon TORA chose to do this to boost the numbers in the GT4 class.

If you read the rules when this started you would have seen the points system. And in real life you do have to choose other classes to have better chances of championships, look at GP2 its so much ££££ that drivers go to America or say Formula Renualt 3.5, to show how good they are to the racing world. To say what you've said about CQR is very sad and coming from a pissed off driver who never read the rules.

1989 BTCC Championship - won by John Cleland in a Class C Astra GTE despite never finishing a race higher than 9th.
If you think that people chose to drive in a certain class just for the points then so be it. That could be the case but equally they could also prefer driving the other class of cars. Unless you're asking that person with them hooked up to a polygraph machine, you'll never know the true answer so it would be wrong to say anything about it.
