Re: TORA GT300 Discussion
I will go ahead and let some details out:
Braking Line Assist and TCS will be permitted. I have heard some say that they may be more accident prone without, and these cars are much more high tech than a Miata... so it is allowed this time around.
Tuning and Upgrades will be forced OFF to minimize extensive test and tune time. With TCC, GT and Sebring taking up much time, these cars are relatively low maintenance.
Cosmetic Damage to minimize Lag related damage and the need for restarts.
No Qualifying. First 16 to sign "In" get to race. Sign in will open each Tuesday at a yet to be specified time. This, along with a reduction of restarts, will help speed up the whole program immensely.
Three races on three circuit variants each week. This adds a twist to the event by utilizing everything that each facility has to offer from tight short tracks to high speed sweeping Grand Prix courses.

Re: TORA GT300 Discussion
Hope that this series doesn't attract too much attention, and that the someteen that jump in have some serious fun.

Re: TORA GT300 Discussion
I think you should reserve sign-up spots for championship contenders just to make it fair for them.

The #3 and 46 Nissan Fairlady Z and #77 Subaru Imprezza. R3 Class JGTC.

Great idea. Now I have to figure out how many should be "locked in" to each race.
I should also allow for two-four alternates each week to fill in for those that sign in and aren't around come race day. IMO, it would suck for someone to miss the first 16 only to have a few people who sign in not show up.
Re: TORA GT300 Discussion
I would say Top 8 should be reserved.

Re: TORA GT300 Discussion
Since we are using a locked in and smaller field of 16, I am contemplating using either the F1 point structure or a very simple 16-to-1 system.

Re: TORA GT300 Discussion
I thought in F1 only the top 6 score points?
If not, if you wanna do reserve slots for 8. Only top 8 score points, and then the top 8 in points get the reserved slots?

The top 8 drivers that were able to win the championship would be given a reserve slot. If a win scored 16 points, every driver that was 16 points behind would be given a reserve slot. If there were more than 8 drivers that were eligible, then only the top 8 would be given a reserved slot.

You still in the 90's soundwave?! F1 changed to 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 then to the current 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1. The top 6 scoring is well outdated :-)

Yeah I don't follow it like I used to haha
Bandit- what you said made no sense to me haha as this is a new series, what prior championship are you referring too?
I still think doing a Top 8 score points would really make the races interesting; from 1st to an 8 way battle for 8th lol

Re: TORA GT300 Discussion
Soundwave, I think what Bandit meant was starting with Round 2 have the top 8 in points locked in.
And for points, either the simple 16 to 1 or the 2000s F1 system: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1

Re: TORA GT300 Discussion
I like the 16 to 1 system. Points is closer when everyone gets points.

Re: TORA GT300 Discussion
These cars are a bit quicker than the Miatas, and with the default tunes. just as evenly matched.

Hi all,
I'm new to this hope hoping to compete in my first event.
I like the sound of this and I like the cars too. Working on my livery.

Re: TORA GT300 Discussion
^ Other than the odd start time (late in the UK/early in the US) I try to set up these Friday series to be a great place to start your TORA racing career.
Being either a spec build or in this case a default tune, it ensures that everyone has the same car and nobody has an advantage or disadvantage via tuning ability.
