2013 FIA WEC 6 Hours of Silverstone - 12/13/14 April

Guys i will be in the paddock from early on. ive had 3hrs sleep. I hate wind!!!

Did anyone hear the news that Mark Webber has signed a 5 year Contract with Porsche for next year before the race started

Its all sourced but nothing confirmed yet.

it is interesting though......I did have a feeling that he would leave red bull at the end of the season........the team is more focus on vettel than webber

Was a great race, and weekend actually! Glad I've met so many people from here, CQR Daniel is in fact a human and NOT a machine, turns out he's bloody hilarious as well!!!!!

It was for the "Petrol" class of P1, of which they were the ONLY team.

Oh ffs. They're getting a trophy every race then!

Also forgot to mention that after Aero got owned by a rather generous self-inflictive helping of english mustard, I done exactly the same bloody thing on mine... ffs

Great to meet a lot of you. Some for the first time. It was a cracking weekend! And Blizzard you left too early mate. Missed an incredible end to the race

Oh damn, I hear McNish was on a rampage? last 5 minutes or something?

What I gather is the #1 eTron had its elecricity derezzed.

#1 pitted for fuel + no tyres, #2 pitted for fuel and tyres. Roughly 30 mins to go with a 30 second gap McNish takes the lead 2 laps from the end.

Also, Vette/Ferrari battle ends in a nudge from the Vette that damaged the right rear of the Fezza. Rubbing bodywork causes a puncture (and causes everyone in the grandstand to gag on burning rubber smell) just 5 mins from the end.

yeah we seen the vette hit the 8 star ferrari its safe too say i was super pissed off.

To sum things up, this has been the best weekend ever.

Apart from the camping (which I will never do again), the weekend at Silverstone has been absolutely tremendous. The atmosphere was electric and everyone I met or spoke to were really friendly & helpful. We were discussing this over the weekend how much better value for money that you get with the WEC compared to F1 and it's quite staggering. In the past, I would have classed F1 higher than sports cars. Not anymore I'm not! I'm totally converted to sports cars.
And the noise of the cars! OMG!!!! They were unbelievable. I still can't decide whether the Corvette, Aston or the Rebellion make the best engine note!

It was certainly a pleasure to meet up with Duncan, Chris Siddall, Chris Ford, Matt Hunter, Shrinking Steven and some of the CQR guys over the weekend. Thanks lads for making my very first race meeting such a wonderful experience and it's one I will never forget. Many thanks to Duncan as well for carting myself to and from the circuit as well. I really do appreciate it greatly my friend!

I'll try and uploads the pics I've taken. There isn't many, but it's quite difficult to snap some of the action with a compact camera. And I'll also upload a video later. I would like to apoligise before hand about the quality of the video. The speaker on my compact camera is such poor quality, it's unreal. It's supposed to have wind detection built in to prevent the wind noise, but it doesn't sadly.

For me, the two highlights over the weekend was getting my model Lola Aston Martin signed by Darren Turner and the last hour of the race was immense. More excitement and action in this 1 race than a whole season of F1. And Matt, YES! It definitely does beat going to gadget show live! lol

I definitely wanna come again to next years WEC. And who knows, any other event that's happening this year, I might turn up.

Sat at club where the 8Star car got hit.
Had some other photo's of the aftermath but stupid poles got in the way.
