no its not Adrian LMP needs privateers, its a privater trophy enough said, I would like to see more privateers in LMP1 but costs are stupid, ACO and FIA are correcting that for next season with new regs I point to the 2014 aero the lotus LMP2 cars ran.

Well no. They didn't finish.

The class is fine, they can't hope to compete with the Audi's and Toyota's atm. It only looks silly in the context of the WEC, Rebellion also compete in ALMS and so the data and track time will be very useful, and they also want to race at Le mans at the WEC is a guarantee for that.

So in essence, Prototype shouldnt be P1 and P2, it should REALLY be works and privateers?

Essentially, yes it is Adrian. And to be fair, motorsport wouldn't be as good as it is without any privateer teams in there as well as the work teams. And hopefully with these new regulations in 2014, we should see more of them. I would like to think so anyway. I've noticed that within the last few years, the field in LMP1 has reduced quite massively.

Adrian new regs from 14 hence decline 13 LMP1 Privaters for 1 reason

Reason 2 P2 is working very well in WEC

P1 will be massive when Porsche return in 2014 im also hopeful this will lure Peugeot back and make it a 4 way works fight.
and with P2 allowing diesel next year this will open the flood gates for all privateer teams to get involved knowing they cant compete at P1 for the top honors.

Doubt Peugeot will return, they're no better financially than when they shut down the program, not to mention getting engineers back and a car designed and all that.

Thanks mate. I was gutted when I came home and watched it because of the wind noise. With my compact camera, it's suppose to have wind detection build in to reduce the amount of wind noise. But as you can tell, it doesn't.

I was just looking at some DSLR camera's earlier and wanted to get some opinions from you guys. Does anyone own or previously owned a Canon EOS 1100D? If so, would they recommend it for taking top quality pictures and videos? If so, I might order one. Spotted one for less than £390 on littlewoods.com and it comes with a 18-55mm Lens.

I have one Dan. But you'll need a lens of at least 70-300mm for decent racing action shots

It's a good piece of kit, however you can pick up a 550D these days (maybe even a higher model) for around the same price on Ebay and places like and it's a better body really.

The kit lens is decent but a bit limiting. Something like a 55-250 or a 70-300 is needed for the photo's that people like Shifty, Ash, Drake and myself get.

Thank you lads for the very helpful advice. As soon as I get chance, I'm gonna order an EOS 1100d. I'll also consider a better lens as well.
Reason why I'm getting the 1100D is because through Littlewoods, you can pay for items a little over time either by 20 weeks or 52 weeks. That's how I've been able to afford such lovely things as this.

Also, photography should come with a disclaimer: once you start you never stop buying lenses, filters etc. Beware!
