^^ I know Demo seems very odd over weekend will try get you in a lobby see what issues we can find
Re: MSA TORA Touring Car Championship - Round 1, 2 & 3 - Hockenheim National – March 5th 8PM GMT
What ever lobby I was in tonight was an absolute joke, what an anti-climax start to what was supposed to be a great series.
BG Scarlett did his best but there's only so much you can do over I mic when you have people who don't use a mic/mic breaks or are generally retarded.
Race 1 wasn't too bad, pretty close. People really need to call out on passes/overtakes!
Race 2 I messed up and tried a different tune, but that didnt stop one guy from forcing his way past me and sending me into cars behind me, which left me to race in a car with damage all over expect the engine.
Race 3 was a joke, people don't listen, people lag (not blaming individuals, you can't help that), people not listening on grid positions, people crashing into me/others on formation lap and the one which made me quit out....either a lag spike or someone who came into the corner too fast and rammed me bloody hard.
Disappointed

Apart from delays racing was awesome!

Not at all. Normally Race 1 would have been under way between 2030 and 2045 depending on the number of participants. Unfortunately we were struck down with a number of host organisation and player connection issues. Expect "normal" service to resume from Round 2.
I hope that everyone, even those who are "absolutely certain" that their NATs are set to Open will go away tonight and re-check that that is the case. I've just done mine, so no reason anyone should just take it for granted and not check. It only takes a minute.
Yep we have raised this with the race marshals we apologize for the delays usally meetings completed within 1 hour 30 minutes.
We have raised the delays with those appropriate cheers all
Re: MSA TORA Touring Car Championship - Round 1, 2 & 3 - Hockenheim National – March 5th 8PM GMT
Tonight was my first TORA event and at risk of sounding like a creep i just wanted to say a Thankyou to the organisers and especially Warspite & Scarlett who hosted the quali and race lobbies i was in. Appreciate it is a tough job at times and some do appear to have had a few issues...as a newbie looking in tonight for me communication seems to be important and was maybe the cause of a few of the issues raised, especially during races with perhaps a few more 'I'm on your left' etc needed and tbh a mic to start with
I'm looking forward to the next races and again thanks guys, organising 100 racers with differing connections, iffy NAT and all the normal XBL lobby issues can't be easy

Major, sorry about the tap at the beginning of the 3rd race. As for the lag spike, I too was taken out by someone. I can only apologise for that and had a lot of red on my car as well. As Rogue mentioned - please put in an SI if you feel aggrieved in any way.
Great racing apart from that and well done to Lucy for her first win and the two wins from The Ginge.
Re: MSA TORA Touring Car Championship - Round 1, 2 & 3 - Hockenheim National – March 5th 8PM GMT
Actually exhausted at the amount of times my BMW decided to kick out at me, never tried harder in any other meeting on TORA so far! Just hoping this isn't a Nissan Sentra take two again
Anyways some good close racing at times in lobby B!

Great racing in lobby C had a few good battles with smokey and beanz started in 2nd finished 2nd in first race
Second race another battle with smokey and beanz lost them a bit then fought hard to keep triksta smithy and stevieb off to hold on to third
Then disaster in 3rd race finished 10th
No real major pranges but just good old touring car bumps and bangs
Great racing all lets hope racing like this continues

Re: MSA TORA Touring Car Championship - Round 1, 2 & 3 - Hockenheim National – March 5th 8PM GMT
If I had to miss a race this season, I am glad it was Hockeyrink. I spent three weeks testing a dozen builds each with several tuning adjustments... then thankfully got called to work today.
Re: MSA TORA Touring Car Championship - Round 1, 2 & 3 - Hockenheim National – March 5th 8PM GMT
I agree, all three were good races, yes I got taken out in race 1 and three (none of it intentionally), but [Censored] happens, enjoyed the fight backBG Wingnut396 wrote:Great racing in lobby C

A TORA newby's thoughts and opinions of TCC Round 1
Last nights TORA TCC race was my first TORA event, so I thought I'd just share my thoughts, on what was overall an enjoyable nights competitive racing.
Positives:
Negatives:
Perhaps my expectations of TORA were higher than the reality of it, but I thought I'd share my thoughts. I hope I haven't spoken out of turn, or caused any aggravation with this post. These are after all only opinions.
Overall, my first TORA TCC event, was well organised, well lead and an enjoyable event with some fantastically close racing, with only a few minor blips that can surely be put down to round one rustiness. Roll on Nurburgring!
Last nights TORA TCC race was my first TORA event, so I thought I'd just share my thoughts, on what was overall an enjoyable nights competitive racing.
Positives:
- Both qualifying and race lobby hosts, STR Warpsite GB and CQR Franchitti, were nigh on perfect in their delivery of clear and to the point information, as well as both being overly apologetic for the time delay regarding the start, when it probably wasn't their fault.
- All 3 races were highly competitive, and on the most part clean.
- The race lobby I was in, nearly all drivers had a mic. and were good at letting you know where-a-bouts they were in relation to your position.
Negatives:
- Ninjas, as I like to call them. Though most people had mics. not everyone used them. There were a couple of occasions when a car would "appear" on your inside, where there was seemingly little room, without a vocal call first. I don't expect every move to be called, since all drivers should be alert to there surroundings, but if you have to turn away from the apex to avoid a collision, a polite "close on your right" wouldn't go amiss.
- Equally calling a line doesn't necessarily mean you're entitled to pass. If it's possible to hang out around the outside to have the inside line for the next turn, then that's what I'm doing.
- Having a mic. but being in a different party. How's this helpful to anyone?
- Track limits. I was of the understanding all four wheels had to stay inside the white line at all times. This didn't happen on several occasions.
- My race in race 3 was ended for me by a seemingly impossible manoeuvre, that resulted in 3 cars in the wall.

It's two wheels not four but if you feel someone abused the track limits you should put in and SI. I'm not sure how much racing you've done or seen but this is usually the standard rule in the real world and virtual world.Greenfly750 wrote:[b]

Yeah. My bad. Was meant to write two, but put four for some unknown reason. It didn't affect my final result, so no need for an SI. I just noticed it was happening a fair bit, so thought I'd mention it since it was in the rules and regs. about track limits.

It's sort of the nature of this track so I give most people the benefit of the doubt at Hockenheim but If I felt they were abusing it I wouldn't hesitate to do an SI.

Would be nice if we can get more feedback set out like that.

An insider's view:
being fresh to the stewards team I was shocked and amazed that contenders were not readily available for invite, drivers popping in and out of lobbies, drivers joining lobbies that have not signed in, guys with closed nat settings holding everything up.
All in all I'm surprised it got started as promptly as it did, most of this was down to chucky and the support he had.
this is an observation, not a rant, hats off to the admin.

+1 Tubbi, Thankyou to Chucky for taking over the reigns whilst Aero was resting as I know organising so much in so little time is tough by any standard.
And supporting what Tubbi said about contenders being ready ect, if you cannot get into your qualifying lobby PLEASE message the designated host, the LiveTiming page will highlight race hosts as green, there were several people who couldn't get to where they were supposed to be and jumping into other lobbies which confuses all of us who need to make sure everyone has an invite and is accounted for, please if you cannot get into your designated lobby message your host who will try his best to get you in but if all else fails im sure will discuss with the team who will be able to take you.
And it is reccomended to reset your connection before a race just to be safe, and assure your NAT is set to "open" to allow you to connect to others.
