Doesn't the host have a list of people he should invite? I never had a problem with getting an invite before....

Re: Qualifying invite
You messaged peeps in your list but the first person you need to message is your race host, they will do their best to get you in before 8pm, your designated race host will be highlighted green in the "LiveTiming" section.

Re: Qualifying invite
One thing I will add is that Lobby Hosts need to try to refrain from sending out bulk invites to all racers at once. All this does is encourage everyone to attempt to join the lobby at the same time - something we know the game struggles with.
It is much easier for all involved if individuals are invited one at a time - it may seem slower but it actually speeds up the process and would avoid a lot of the issues encountered the other night.

Agree plus when the lobby hosts send you an invite accept it don't wait
Re: Qualifying invite
My pet hate when I send out invites is people still testing and take a while untill they join in which i gave up waiting and invited a couple more then all the invited join at once causing failed connections.
I normally send an invite, wait one minute, send the next invite, wait a minute and so on. If 4 of them guys are testing together and take 6 minutes to accept there invite and do it all at once then it could be 5 people trying to connect to lobby, no fault of the host. Cant have hosts sending out one invite returning to the lobby screen and wait for what could be a couple of minutes for the person they just invited to join the lobby and then invite the next guy and wait for them

A quick addition to my original post - I'm not sure what Lobby Host procedure is but I would have thought it should be the case that all Qualification & Race lobbies are set to private. I have witnessed a lot recently that people are managing to jump in & out of lobbies during sessions. Not only is this a distraction for competitors but it can also cause major lag issues. These are not competitors responding to invites - this even includes non-TORA registered drivers.
Re: Qualifying invite
The biggest problem is people leave it till 7.55 to accept their invites and then when they don't get in start complaining. The hosts are going out of their way to make all of this possible so the least people can do is show a little respect and try to help make the host's life easier

I must admit I do miss this sometimes as its not a setting in the lobby settings and you have to press x in the lobby.

Although I agree with you, some of this is as a result of the bulk sending of invites. As this has been done a lot recently certain guys, myself included, will sometimes hang fire and let the 12 other people have a go at entering the lobby before I accept my invite.
If people intentionally ignore invites until the last minute and then have issues joining then they only have themselves to blame. However, at the moment there appears to be a complete disparity as to how lobbies are set up and competitors invited. I've already seen reports of hosts supposedly not sending invites out until a couple of minutes before quali should start. I'm happy to support any host that sends out 3 timely invites to a competitor and then leaves them behind if they aren't accepted. However, if this doesn't happen then, quite rightly, the site is left open to criticism.
Re: Qualifying invite
This is the basic procedure I've used for over a year for TCC and GT and never had any issues with it:
7.30pm - Write down the list of drivers from live timing
7.35pm - Send first round of invites to everyone, in batches of 3. So I'll invite the first 3 drivers, wait a minute. Then the next 3, wait a minute etc. Then I put a tick by each driver on my list as they join.
7.45pm - Second round of invites to anyone who hasn't joined yet
7.55pm - Third and final round of invites to anyone not in the lobby
8.00pm - Final check of messages to ensure no-one has sent a message saying they can't connect, then GO!

This is what (staff & knowledgeable race marshals do)

Agreed - perfect example.
Unfortunately there have been a few inexperienced/unprepared hosts recently and it's not shown TORA in the best light. I'm sure things will quickly improve & hopefully those that are currently slightly disillusioned can be brought round.
Bring on Round 2

This is exactly what I do at VM although it is 8:00 to 8:20.
Re: Qualifying invite
Cheers all,
Jamie had and will be given further instructions to race hosting (marshals) to make sure they adhere to the below.
Recently it seems this has slipped and staff will be making sure that these delays do not happen once more.

Didn't even know their was live timing to get names from, didn't know who my host was, so just did what i could at the time. didnt kick up a fuss just told who i could at the time, but been on from 7:30 was tampin to miss Quals i know [Censored] happens, but only one invite i got. never mind someone saying he sent me multiple invites after quals. only one i had on my friends list was Aero so i jumped in on a convo with him and a few others, not to vent just to say i missed quals what do i do now. allot of swearing ensued not by myself. and i was asked to leave.
Top help for a newbie.

Re: Qualifying invite
One thing worth mentioning, is that if you are sent multiple invites to the lobby, it will still only show up as 1 invite in your inbox, but you will get multiple notifications pop-up each time the invite is sent - so be on the lookout for the notification to pop-up and keep checking your inboxes.
