Car Change Clarification

I read the rules about a car change, but the team will not "break apart". What i'm asking is, same team name, same livery.. well sorta, but we are wondering what would the outcome of moving our XPR Tequila Patron team into an LMP?

We thought about it before Sebring but it was too late. I know it would free up the GTE class for more people to race and we finally got our hands on the ESM livery for their new P2 car.

if i remember correctly, if you change cars or teams you lose your points. I could be wrong tho.

The way I saw it explained, from Richy to me, yesterday, is the way Knob Laggy explained it.

That's what i'm wondering, as it will be the same team and almost the same drivers. But we don't want the team to loose its points from Sebring, however, taking just a penalty(if any) to change class would help our decision for the new car.

That would contradict the whole "keep in mind the car you choose for Sebring is the one you will race at LeMans" point though, which made the pick for yesterday's race a compromise for many teams before they even chose a car.

Will running a different design as say like a special desgin be okay as long as we still have the same car and same team?

And we did, but we aren't changing just cars but class. We initially wanted 2 cars per class but didn't have enough drivers to drive LMP, and now we do lol

Worst case scenario, we switch it anyways but the team name won't change.

To be compeletly honest, this got released after we could change cars.

Keep the team names and cars you had at Sebring, then add a new second LMP team. If I have read correctly, the drivers don't even have to be the same for LM as they were at Sebring. So, if you so desire, your GTE team of drivers could all move over to the "new" LMP team, and you could replace them with an all new set to run the GTE car.

+1 that's another option we are looking into. So we will see.....

Any change of car will be classes as a new team entry. If you want to compete in the Teams Championship you need to keep the same Team name and same Car for Le Mans, but driver line up can change. In reference to the other question, yes you can change paints as long as the Team Name and Car remains the same. You may change class and/or car if you wish, but it will be counted as a new team.

There's the Official answer lol I was afraid of that but all good.

What about class caps? Wouldn't that put a stop to this? OR do we assume that the 4 cars that either didn't show or were completely withdrawn to be open spots?

Those four teams shouldn't keep their car and have to resubmit for Le Mans... That's my tale on the ruling, but I could be wrong

Ok so I was given captains chair for LMR Wobblecraft Peugeot 908 that had a string of bad luck at Sebring. My co-drivers and former captain all quit the team (lucky me lol) What I am wanting to do is form a new team (don't mind losing points since we didn't gain really any) and bring in my own drivers, My question is can I do this and if I do does that mean I effectively disband the Wobblecraft team and turn over the 908, and if so can we pick a new car since it will be a new team? Sorry for the long question but kinda left on my own here lol

You could give up the car and team name... but from what I see, only Lola Mazda is available in LMP. Since that wouldn't be as good as the car you already have rights to, the Pug 908, you could keep the car, keep the team name, and fill the roster with your own drivers, and as a bonus, keep the points.

Midnight it's still an LMR car and will be driven by LMR. I just said that you could be in charge of running things in that car. It's still LMR though and will be driven by LMR. Ill look in to seeing if its worth changing the car or not.

Ok good to know lol I thought it was just dumped by the team completely. Ok so then no worries, we can keep car and name and points(haha) and just change driver roster. Much relieved *whew* lol

Every one that signed up for Sebring doesn't mean that it's automatically signed up for Le Mans. You still have to sign up with the same team name and car for Le Mans. Anyone can form a new team if they wish so. But you won't get the teams points from Sebring, you will get the drivers points from Sebring.

Soundwave, watching that Patron LMP2 car spin around over and over again would keep me from ever using that livery on that car.

Just like I will never use a GoDaddy paint job on anything.

So if there are NEW teams that enter the Viper before us, does that mean they could take our car, and as a result, force us to lose our team points?
