Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
as a staff member and a tora veteran I will offer my services if Si's are to be dished out, of course two others will need to involved for fairness.
having watched the replays I feel that three are some guys that quite frankly should be spanked.

Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
Hmm... SIs? I hadn't put much thought into it, as I assumed that SIs only apply to "official" TORA series and events.
Would the standard SI procedure be used? If so, would TORA Stewards be bothered to investigate a SI for the Friday Spec Series? Or would a complaint be sent in my direction, and I be the one to relay the investigation to TORA Stewards that are involved or have otherwise volunteered their services?
Maybe I should ask some higher ups about this.

Well mikey I would say if you want to make it official then main steward office or pick a select few that you would be capable of doing things fairly and swiftly as only have less than a week to process and rulings of steward process go with the tcc ones to make life a little easier

Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
If anyone has a SI, please send it to me in a PM and I will get certified TORA Stewards to investigate your evidence.
That seems to be the appropriate measure for the series, unless I hear otherwise from higher TORA staff.

Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
I did not understand the reason why we had those weird starting procedures. First race Wait 10 seconds and then go? Second race drive around circuit park somewhere near your start box. Wait for it Go! What was all that about???

Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
followed TCC/NATCC start procedures. but with the fact we only had to deal with one Race lobby, the grid order for race 1 (after that one lapper at Motegi West) the grid was in proper order, so the 'Go' Time was @ 10 seconds, instead of after the Countdown. Race 2 was to get everyone in the right spots because of the lobby points. Again, same procedure as the TCC/NATCC.

The formation lap start in R2 is how we are doing it TCC and NATCC, the wait 10 sec in R1 was a quicker way of doing the same thing... What those starts do is add realism to the starts via "reaction time".
Think of it this way: its not as if they all hold the throttle wide open and magically don't move until a three count in real V8 Supercars or Formula 1.
Like I said, we have been doing this in the Touring Cars, and its become quite popular.
Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
Mikey the parade lap builds the tension and only takes a couple of minutes.
Might it be worth doing in all races rather than the ten second thing just for simplicity?
Oval is going to be a great challenge

The next race should be rolling starts.

Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
Ok these starts are cool and realistic. When you now what going on and why. But when your unfamiliar with it. And you can't hear the person explaining the procedure, it can be confusing. Besides my reaction time is poor. And the second start I was looking the wrong way (Just like James May) LOL

I agree. For all Oval races we should have rolling starts.
Will qualifying be the same as usual, or will we be doing it NASCAR/TASCAR style?

Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
to avoid Mr I'm gonna get on the gas early I think if the rolling start is used then the grid should be in single file, nose to tail order.

Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
why not try this at rolling start a time to go on so you do the parade lap then when your nearing the line set a time for all to hit the gas if you want can run through it on forza later

Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
Rolling Start on the Oval...
100 ft between cars until front straight, then double up.
Pole sitter calls out "3 2 1 GO!" between beginning of Pit Wall and actual Start Finish Line.
Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, as that is the standard Rolling Start procedure.
Qualifying will remain Single Flying Lap format.

Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
You do not just bump a guy out the way cause hes slower, so you guys are openly admitting that you bump guys out the way if you can't get passed? Thats not within the sporting code or the MSA rules here at TORA.
The only times that you can bump here is in the TASCAR for the oval racing, If in any other championship you get into the back of someone you are expected to give the place back if you pass them from that bump. Even in the real BTCC its now looked down on.

Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
"bump drafting" is one thing Chaddy, but the way you explained it there for TASCAR, sounds like it's ok to "Bump 'n Run", which it is not.

You are 100% correct. I opened up the SI process for this series to curb overaggressive driving... its up to the racers to actually use it. Beyond that, there is nothing I can do about it.
Re: V8 Supercar Spec Series Discussion
just drop it chaddy. let the race talk for you. put in an si or hush about. nobody wants a complainer. i believe i bumped u as well out of the hairpin because you were just spinning tires which resulted me getting by u. but u arent complaining about. just because u n soundwave have history u r turning this into bigger things. see you next week.
