Doing the practice for this weeks ISCC around Road Atlanta, the Forza 5 version of the track looks like it has been improved sooo much!

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
That's fantastic Notice how there are 14 cars on there
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
seems though Road atlanta in FM5 wasn't completely "new". around 0:50, its missing the newer section of track to the right going down hill from turn 3/4..
edit: video sleuthing from past "Petit Le Mans" races showed me that the layout we have in Forza is from at the latest, 2007!!! So, we've been basically using a layout of Road Atlanta from 6 years ago at the most. that new piece of tarmac after turn 4 was put in at some point between the '07 and '08 Petit Le Mans race.

They mentioned this at E3.TweekPunx wrote:"While Forza Motorsport 5 does not feature a storefront..."

Supposedly, you upload your paints/tunes/whatever to some sort of "storefront" and when you paint/tune/whatever your car, it'll give you recommendations. I think it's a good idea, but removing the storefront entirely is a bit daft. Hopefully they have something in it's place that will let you search from paints/tunes/whatever
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
another.....that video feed of the Nova at Atlanta, did anyone notice the shifting animation?! upshifting and downshifting has the SAME MOTION........

T10 said "All tracks are laser-scanned", but layout from 2007! Hmm... something is not right. Doubt that they laser-scanned it already back in 2007.LMR DarthMario wrote:video sleuthing from past "Petit Le Mans" races showed me that the layout we have in Forza is from at the latest, 2007!!! Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
they said they use pics too, I guess somebody hasn't checked google maps in a while
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
yeah, hell, they updated Le Mans (noticed the larger runoff at Arnage), but they couldn't re-scan Road Atlanta, which is a track roughly 1/3 the size?!

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
That's a little disappointing but I guess it's not a game changer. Out of interest does that missing section get used much?
I see what you mean in terms of a visual let down. I had that with Silverstone since Forza 2!

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
from what i'm reading, that pavement after turn 4 is for two-wheeled vehicles. and not only is it turn 4, but the bike course at turn 12 is vastly different than what we've seen in-game on Forza..

The works also included moving the walls in the esses away from the track, with the intention of improved driver safety and better sight lines for spectators. In the late winter of 2007/2008, the circuit was again modified with the reconfiguration of turns 4 and 12, for the ostensible safety benefit of motorcycle racers (the racing line for cars remained essentially unchanged).

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
Well I hope they replace one of the best online features of FM4 with something that allows you to search and download vinyls/liveries/tunes or there'll be facepalms around the world.Standaman94 wrote:They mentioned this at E3.TweekPunx wrote:"While Forza Motorsport 5 does not feature a storefront..."

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
There is something, you're about 6 months late on this one.
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
I've been saying that some of the claims of all-new/laser scanned just aren't 100% accurate all along. This just further supports my theory, just as the lack of the divot in T6 at Laguna Seca does.tsaFooT wrote:T10 said "All tracks are laser-scanned", but layout from 2007! Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
Things like the animation will probably be one of the first things that gets patched. They've done something odd with that for the last three (?) iterations of the game now
I'd suggest what they MEANT to say with the tracks was that all the NEW circuits in the game are fully laserscanned and old tracks have trackside stuff updated. Though I'd suggest some like Sebring have been done REALLY well indeed. Much, much happier with how that looks now in terms of trackside realism. I'm really glad they added the Audi hospitality units on the insode of Turn 1 there and, actually all the correct units are in place at Le Mans too. I could even see Hindy's comms position on the outside of the last chicane

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
Paints and tunes are freely available. Every time someone uses one, you get money. Eliminates that issue they had with people hacking to unlock paints.Standaman94 wrote:They mentioned this at E3.TweekPunx wrote:"While Forza Motorsport 5 does not feature a storefront..."

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
Road Atlanta has not been laser scanned. At least it hasn't been since 2008 unless they forgot to add tarmac for the motorcycle course
Not that it affects 4 wheeled racing
