Re: 24 hour le man
i did the 24 hours on GT4 with a mate, hour long shifts, lots of energy drink, managed something like 405 laps slept well afterwards!
wouldnt advice drinking lots of energy drink to stay awake though, especailly not 3 litres..... gives you the shakes, and then massive come downs, not good mid race, may have fallen asleep multiple times on one lap, and then forgotten to pit.... and then did about half a lap at 50mph, or whatever the out of fuel speed was on gt4 lol

Re: 24 hour le man
energy drinks = liquid sugar (at least in my opinion). hense the 'shakes' and crashes when you come down of the 'sugar high'.

Re: 24 hour le man
So has it been decided when this is happening? Also, is there going to be a 24hr of Nurburgring too?

Re: 24 hour le man
at the end of last year, as the Finale to 2010, we had a 24-laps of Nurburg, seeing as T10 hasnt given us the 'Behemoth' layout of the Nordschliefe. im sure that's on the schedule to wrap up 2011

Re: 24 hour le man
Hey all,
Ref Nur 24, myself and Chris have been talking about using the VLN mod 05 for rfactor/gtr evo.
This mod provides much more depth, much more cars, user abilty, night racing around the full VLN circuit.
However if we want we could use forza 3/4 depends on track layout cars etc etc.
Reference Le Mans 24, I would PM Audi Sport Louis and find out what he wants to do.

Re: 24 hour le man
We could do it like how we done Sebring.
We could even shorten it to a 12 hour race. Doing the full 24 would be epic though. A few good squads all willing to do it would make an epic battle.

Re: 24 hour le man
We could very well do a full 24 hours, and split up into teams of 4 and do stints like we usually do. This wouldn't mean you would have to sit in front of a TV for a full 24...unless you wanted to.
I would be up for this if I was off. I see no objections to it if we can find a suitable date. We can openly invite the rest of the Forza community as well, which was something that didn't happen last year.

Re: 24 hour le man
I think itd be best just to do it like 2.4 hours. Basically we set it up to go for 3 hours, then finish at 2 hours 40 minutes.

Re: 24 hour le man
Vengeance, that is what we are doing for our ISCC 2.4 hour race.
I think there seems to be enough demand for this event for us to at least give it a good go. I will start drafting rules and propose a date. We can use the same car list and system as the ISCC is using for the 2.4.

Re: 24 hour le man
You know, you don't have to do the full 24 hours. If you have a decent sized team, you could only do 3 out of the 24 if the others are happy with it.
Re: 24 hour le man
2.4 Hours works out quite nicely as 2 hours and 24 minutes.
The 24 Hours would be a separate event, like last years. The good thing about doing the full 24 hours is that it takes away the ''hotlapping'' element from the usual ISCC race (although 2.4 hours is still pretty grueling for just one driver) and would actually create a pretty decent race.
How did last years go?

Re: 24 hour le man
From what I can remember there wasn't many people doing it so it didn't really work out well. The people who raced did have fun though, it was good to be working as a team where you were swapping drivers out. It also wasn't made into a big deal.
For this year I think we'll make it big and I'll plan it so I can be in it

Sounds good!
TORA is lacking a ''grande fromage'' of races, a few mega events plotted over the year would be fantastic. We already do Le Mans and Sebring, so why not add in a 1000km test at Silverstone? Get some real prizes in for anyone who wins or something.
With Forza 4 around the corner (and 16 player lobbies) we can really get these mega events going properly. I mean, we are usually up all night watching Sebring and Le Mans anyway, so why not play along at the same time?

Re: 24 hour le man
I remember joining in a few years ago for a stint when we were running alongside the real Le Mans. It was fine for a stint, but I just wanted to get back to watching the race. I think doing it at a different time from the real thing is better, as I personally know I would rather be watching it so I didn't miss anything, especially towards the end.
We did the same thing for Sebring this year, and as I was working (I seem to be missing out on a lot these days) I wasn't a part of it. It's a great idea to run at the same time so when there is a real safety car we do the same. I mean, we could always do it after the real thing and just do safety cars when they would have been happeneing, but to be honest if we just have one real race for TORA I think that would be great.
With FM4 we will have 16 player lobbies so we won't feel as 'alone' on the track as we usually do in these events. Plus there is possible day time progression. We will also be planning our N24 event for the end of the year aswell

the 16 player lobbies would be fantastic to have but the issue we have is that we struggle to even get 5 cars in each of our meetings, plus people say they'll join in to race and when they're time comes they're a no show. Love the idea of it and would love to do more but member interest isn't always what they say it is.

AND we could do an Indianapolis 500!
I was talking with Rollin inAn STI about continuing the TORA Indycar series over into Forza 4 and then doing an actual Indianapolis 500 as the finale.

Having safety cars based on this years 24hrs would mean A LOT of driving around slowly for hours on end.

Re: 24 hour le man
Basically, yes. It's a spec-racing series in Forza using an unrestricted Acura P1 car around ovals and road courses.
