TORA Clubman Cup Meeting 1 - Rules & Discussion

TCS is going to put you at a big disadvantage in these sorts of cars.

Just wanted to give a heads up, I'm going to miss the first race by 15 minutes as I get out of work at 3pm EST, but I'll be there for the other 2 no problem!

Please note, due some people trying out the lobby setting to test it out some cars weren't making it into the lobby even sitting on 200 or 250. Please make sure your cars have 201-249bhp to make sure they fit into the lobby.

This is my first TORA race, so may I ask the question how I can join the lobby? Will there be an invite? Shall I look for a special lobby name?

Well I'm gonna have to change cars if I can't get in with exactly 250 hp.

@stonewall - I made the RX8 and I can get into the lobby with it.

I thought this was later in the year and would strictly be around the nurburgring.

That was some fun races, just a shame about the lag. Not sure if it was from my end or struggling to connect to someone. I did a speed test and everything was OK here??? I know I have had a bit of trouble in the past with issues but for once mine was OK . That is a fun little series. Nice one Richy. Was there some aero on some of the cars as it looked like there was a few cars with spoilers on???

Cheers guys I appreciate everyone turning up. It gave me a good chance to see how all the cars behaved in race conditions. I think the FWD cars may get a 5-10 PI boost as the lobby was mainly filled with RWD cars as they were very good overall. Oh and yes, the 03 Celica will be getting put on the naughty list I meant to before the race but forgot about it until iw as looking through the cars. It's a leaderboard car and was very quick tonight. The MRS' were also pretty good but it was also very even with the Mazda and Cossies.

I'll host another Clubman cup in a few weeks time with the PI changes and on different tracks to get more info about the cars.

Well, it was mine first race on TORA and I liked it!

Cars were really close( exept the celica), drivers also.
Safety car is perfect, restart could be better organised.....
I only hope that in the future damage wouls be limited so that drivers don't take that much risk. I was a few times launched.....
I also made some mistakes myself, so the next time I am train a bit more.
Personal success for me that I drove the fastest lap on indy.

Not your fault. I got home late from work and didn't get on til 4pm my time. I sent you a friend request Richy, and ill definatly be there for the next races.

I'm not so sure that all the FWD cars were disadvantaged, as Simon was as fast as most, and I was able to hold my own on the straights against Nicky and Duncan with my 99 Civic, which is also a LB car but only after a RWD swap I think.

My favorite TORA moment happened today at Nurburgring: passing Nicky and Duncan in a crossover three wide in the stadium section. If there's a replay out there, I hope that move shows up on it, as I am pretty damn proud of that one.

I'm just going through the replays just now grabbing pics, I'll have a look at it when I get to the ring.

I loved seeing all the different types of cars in this, a little break from the norm never hurts. Oh and your eyes don't deceive you, that is indeed an Aston Martin Cygnet!

Since these are somewhat of a test and tune type event, would it be acceptable to try out more than one car in a meeting? I meant to ask this before today's race, and then I almost did between races w/o asking, but decided not to.

I was going to suggest it tonight, but thought better of it as people may have only had one car. Then some people changed their cars for the last race anyway even although everyone else stayed in the same car.

If this becomes an official series then you will have to stick in the same car, but in a few weeks I will run this again with adjusted PIs to see how it affects the cars. I have even looked at adding an ultra light-weight class

Ultralight class? Funny, as one car I was thinking on using today was the MX5 Ultralight.
