(Gauging interest) Production Sportscar/GT/Compact Supercar series
I was wondering if anyone was interested in testing this idea for a series out? I've been working on a prototype PDF rulebook over the last couple of days and I've got the basic series rules worked out.
PS - This is part of my return to TORA; I had to leave for a bit, mainly because of lag issues when racing the TCCs.

Re: (Gauging interest) Production Sportscar/GT/Compact Supercar series
@ Demon Lord and Wingnut: I'm thinking about doing some testing on Friday or Saturday night from about 7pm-ish GMT.
Also, in terms of cars/car classes:
Sportscars: Stuff like the Lotus Evora, Nissan 370Z and BMW Z4 - light, small engined coupes
GT cars: Ferrari 599, BMW M6, Maserati GranTurismo, Porsche Panamera, Aston Rapide etc
Compact supercars: Any three door 'Berlinetta' style car - Ferrari 458 Italia, SRT Viper, Corvette Z06, Aston V12 Vantage etc.
Also, in terms of rules for builds, here's a snippet of what I've been working on:
Maximum horsepower: 600hp (or approx 447 kW)
Minimum car mass: 1050kg (or approx 2314 lbs)

Re: (Gauging interest) Production Sportscar/GT/Compact Supercar series
Dartman, sounds much like Pirelli World Challenge and Grand Am Coninental Challenge here in the States... both of which have been mentioned as potential series, albeit rather casually. I am hoping to get something going for either of them sometime this summer/fall.
In Conti Challenge, the top class is 911, M3, Vantage, Mustang, Camaro, R8 and WRX. The lower class is Miata, Civic, 318i, Golf, MINI, Mazda3 and Kia Forte.

Hmm... had no idea that the Pirelli World Challenge/Grand Am Conti Challenge had been mentioned on the forums - just shows how 'under a rock' I am with the discussions on TORA. *shrugs and sighs*

Re: (Gauging interest) Production Sportscar/GT/Compact Supercar series
Either of those series have yet to get past the "Community Series Ideas" to their own threads as of yet. Seems that they are a reoccuring theme that pops up... but I don't think anyone wants to spend the time trying to balance the performance gaps between all of the potential cars. It is a daunting task to say the least.
Re: (Gauging interest) Production Sportscar/GT/Compact Supercar series
exactly testing and balancing cars takes months not weeks or days
Re: (Gauging interest) Production Sportscar/GT/Compact Supercar series
Something to ponder... its much easier to balance 4-6 cars than it is a few dozen.
Re: (Gauging interest) Production Sportscar/GT/Compact Supercar series
Ill help out I can't make times but I'm happy to test builds and stuff like that

Re: (Gauging interest) Production Sportscar/GT/Compact Supercar series
I've already suggested a return to Season 8 GT for a "filler" championship. Perhaps just 4/5 races with the Season 8 specs. Any thoughts?
