V8 Supercars 1000km (gauging interest)
so as you may or may not know, last October CRA Morphader and myself hosted (what i believe to be) the first V8 supercars 'Bathurst' 1000 at Camino viejo extreme
well, i am thinking of doing the same, it will be 5 stints of 50 laps (49 racing laps [48 in first stint], warm up lap [first stint only], and one to gather the finishing positions and time at the end.
how the stints will work (still polishing it off)
the race will start, everyone in their qualifying positions, warm up lap will commence and then the race will start (stationary start), after 48 laps of racing, everyone will take down their finishing time and position and stop at the outside of the first corner IN THE ORDER THEY CROSSED THE LINE where finishing positions and finishing times will be taken down.
the stints are estimated to take 70 minutes (using my average lap time of 1:24) so stints will start every hour and a half.
there will be one manditory pit stop each stint
Scoring
so as i said, at the end of each stint, everyone's position will be taken down a long with your finishing time, this is VITAL.
the time from each stint will be added up, with the lowest time at the end winning,
i'm deciding whether its worth having the start for stints 2-5 being random start with 1 sec roll off delay, or last team finishing position, see what you guys think is best
drivers; there will be teams of up to 2 drivers per team, but you can run the entire 1000km/5 hours 41 minutes/244 laps on your own if you would like. you can double stint as well, like TEC, but one driver must do at least 40% of the race (start 2 stints) unless extreme circumstances arise that prevent that (but please don't cheat the system)
just like TEC, you will run the same car with the same paint job and number.
now for the important part
The Cars
obviously, you can chose from either the Ford Falcon or Holden Commodore, however, I'm giving an option to align itself with Car of the Future.
if you take a Ford, you can have a Ford, OR a Mercedes (just re-badge it), the same is for Holden, if you take a Holden, you can drive a Holden OR a Nissan (just re-badge again)
The Build
Engine
Stock
Handling
Race Breaks
Drivetrain
All Race
Tyres
Max front tyre width (340)
Max rear tyre width (340)
BBS RK rims
18" Front rims
18" Rear rims
This is only to gauge interest and see your opinions on it
i am still deciding whether it will be at Road Atlanta or Laguna Seca, but i will keep you posted on decision. the build will stay the same though.
if anyone is interested in helping me test for this (mainly how the stints will work) just let me know and that would be great
thanks guys

Re: V8 Supercars 1000km (gauging interest)
I am not interested to do it in on "mickey Mouse"circuits laguna or Atlanta. Although fun to drive, but I think you should held the "bathurst "race again on Camino.

Re: V8 Supercars 1000km (gauging interest)
I'd possibly be interested, but I'd prefer something like Road Atlanta lol
If it is the right weekend, I may have a to at doing it on my own too!

"Mikckey Mouse" circuits? Two World Class facilities don't fit the "Mickey Mouse" description as much as that Fantasyland known as Camino Extreme.

Actually, they are not as bad (flipping wise) when the track is in reverse as they are forward. This is why I am using this variation for Friday's Mustang races.
Re: V8 Supercars 1000km (gauging interest)
Will there be a v8 supercars series similar to say the spec cup series or gt series at all?
