NATCC Season 3 Preview
After an outstanding debut last season for XPR, the guys have finally concluded their teams and sponsors and are ready for another go at it. After a successful run together in the championship winning Flowtech Renault Megane drivers, Soundwave and Venom parted ways to bring new talent into the series. So with out further delay, lets kick this off.
Returning to defend its team championship, XPR Team Flowtech, and the planets aligned on this one to bring back the dominate Renault Megane RS 250 to the North American Series partnered with Flowtech Exhaust. The team will be lead by defending series series champion XPR Venom. Venom won an outrageous number of races last season and can't wait to do it again. His biggest concern is defending his championship, as he says "this season will be harder and tougher than the last" He opted to change the fame red and black to a metallic blue n black as his livery.
Joining Venom will be XPR Chicain, whom helped lead XPR Team Traxxas to 2nd place in Team Championship last season. Chicain is looking foward to picking up where he left off with a race win and several podium finishes. He hopes that moving back into the Renault will favor him, becasue he will not be learning a new car like most of what XPR will be doing. Chicain decided to go with the traditional red and black livery.
Accompanying these two will be Chicain's teammate from last season as well, XPR Small Block. Small Block on the same page as Chicain, he had great success finishing last season and hopes to pick up where he left in the same car. Small Block is very happy to accompany his prior teammate and team boss in another run of the NATCC Series. Unfortunately, Small Block has had his car at distant venue doing testing for other upcoming tracks to help his team out and the team photographer hasn't had a chance to get his picture.
Gearing up for his second run at the Drivers Championship in NATCC, XPR Soundwave is extremely excited for his new team, new car and new sponsor. He had a dominant debut two seasons ago, and managed a 3rd in Drivers Championships last season which helped the XPR Team Flowtech to its first ever Teams Championship. During the off season, he expressed much interest in running the IS300 where he made it into B Lobby in his lone appearance at the Sonoma Race in TCC last season. After some blistering test sessions, Soundwave is extremely happy with his new car and team. The new IS300 will be sponsored by No Fear and Soundwave will represent it with a red window banner and side mirrors.
Joining Soundwave's side will be one XPR's newest members, XPR Moontower, a rookie to NATCC but a veteran in door-to-door racing. He was with Soundwave when they took XPR Pennzoil to a 5th in GTE Class at the 24hrs of Le Mans this year, and has showed the pace to win in his IS300. Their partnership looks to be promising as Moontower is hoping his debut brings more success to his new team and teammates. His car will be displaying the blue window banner and side mirrors.
The final member to accompany these two at XPR No Fear will be FMS TopSecret, one of XPR's top Prototype drivers. TopSecret is looking forward to the series and the shorter races, as he is a veteran to the endurance series. He hopes he can bring his crew chief skills to the difficult to drive Lexus and tune it to its up-most potential. TopSecret has been the quickest of his teammates during the off season and expects his tunes will bring the others up to his pace.
The final team from XPR to run NATCC will be XPR Aiwa, it will be running the Lexus IS300 as well. They wanted to run a car similar to XPR No Fear but all felt that running the four door sports sedan would help both teams in setting the car up for each race. XPR Clutch was with XPR Team Traxxas last season but was sidelined after an injury he sustained from some mid-season testing. He will be leading his new teammates to what he hopes another successful team championship run after his partial run last season. He will be joined by one XPR's veteran racers, XPR Xtremist. This will be Xtremist's first crack in the NATCC, like the rest, he has shown blistering speed and hopes to carry it throughout the season. The final member to join XPR Aiwa will be XPR's newest member, XPR Dwarf. Dwarf being a rookie as well, has been learning a lot from his teammates and the drivers of XPR No Fear. Not quite on pace as the rest, he has been the most consistent during testing, which he hopes will be a key part for his team in this long season.
Filling in to the privateers standings, XPR Roadrunner was able to re-sign a deal with Drums Workshop with his Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifolio Verde. Roadrunner was only able to make a few starts last season, but plans to go the distance with his Serpent Racing entry and take the privateers championship. He says this seasons schedule will favor the quick and nimble Alfa Romeo at which he hopes to see some podium finishes by season end. Roadrunner felt to re-design the livery from last season and chose to use the SR base colors. The XPR tuning squad has been backing Roadrunner's efforts, which makes XPR all in for Season 8.
All of XPR's drivers are excited for this season, and each one are looking to bring in a trophy for their respective teams. The whole crew has been hard at work getting the cars prepped and ready, and any success the teams see will be a product of everyone's hard work. On a last note, XPR wants to thank the TORA Staff for putting this season back on. All the work you guys do behind the scenes hasn't gone unnoticed, and every one of us are glad you guys were able to put on another great series.
Good luck to all, and to all a goodnight!
