TCC Season 9 Preview: Part #1
With the announcement of TORA Touring Car Championship Season 9, we take a 2 part look at this great TORA Championship. This championship is among the driver’s favourites, because of the lower class cars and capped horsepower but mainly because of the door to door racing this unique championship provides. This season we have an impressive field of cars from some of the world’s greatest and well known manufactures. We have everything from the front wheel drive Renault to the rear wheel drive BMW.
For season 9 the series Coordinator BG Chucky82 is trying out a new way for anyone to contact him regarding anything TCC. This is by use of a hash tag, and that hash tag is #TTCCS9. So if you have any TCC related questions and would like to use social media to get into contact with him or anyone else then that is the hash tag to use. Also for season 9 the calendar is a huge 30 races over 10 rounds. We start at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya and finish off 10 weeks later at the Hockinghiem circuit in Germany. Unfortunately crowd favourite Tskuba in Japan has been taken off the calendar, but I’m sure that it will be back soon.
Last year we saw Close Quarters Racing’s CQR MAGiC take the driver’s title by 1 point from his fellow club mate CQR NEON. The team’s standings however was a complete whitewash by the CQR Fusion team taking the teams title with an impressive haul of 5142 points. Can CQR take both championship’s again this season?.
Enough about Season 8, let’s move onto this year’s season. Let’s see what makes Season 9 the best looking TCC Season there has ever been here at TORA. So far we have 42 drivers signed up to take part, some from well known teams such as Happy Cat Racing and Team Hard Online. However there are a few teams making their TORA debut such as Virtual Red Bull Racing, SCRL Racing and Ravenwest Motorsport. As well as the new teams and the well know teams, there are 2 drivers making their own TORA comeback, and they are ATR Dan and commentator legend Jake Sanson. Dan and Jake have both teamed up to create the team, Cadbury ATR Dynamics with Downforce UK Radio. It’s nice to see them both on the track again! Good Luck lads.
Unfortunately for Part 1 this is it as we are waiting to catch up with all the drivers and teams at the TCC Media Day at 8pm BST on the 22nd July 2014. Part 2 will be released with a more in depth prevew, in the week leading up to the 1st Round.
*Note: Could everyone attending the media day please have the paints they are planning to run on the cars so we can take some Pre season photo’s*
See you all at the media day and for part 2.
