Lets raise the bar a bit here , how about Toyota lose and you all get a 12 month ban ?
Re: 2014 Sportscar Thread
Im not sure toyota will get it all there own way, maybe audis steady ship plan will be better than toyotas flat out plan or even porsche sand bagging in lmp, we shall see soon enuf

yeah but the Toyota will probably be have a small advantage over the Audo so can go flat out when needed and otherwise maintain the gap.
Audi will have to try and follow the pace as the Toyota's are pretty much rock solid reliability wise and that'll put them right on the edge so more likely to make a mistake.
It's a bit of a Audi vs Peugeot in the early days type thing but Toyota can actually work out a half decent strategy and not have all 3 engine blow up overnight.

I think it's more Audi fan boy vs sensible realists
Still though, in fairness, we've not seen that new R18 over 24 hours yet, have we?

Re: 2014 Sportscar Thread
Audi are losing straightline at the moment but hey, if their economy is better than Toyota or Porsche (which it traditionally has been) then we could be in for an absolute classic.
Last year had hints of it but with everything else that happened I don't honestly think the heart was in it.
Let's hope this year will be much much better

The profiles of these three are exactly the same... What happened to the good ol' days when LMP1s were radically different?MATT PASTRAMNI wrote:the LMP1's tho!

What do you exactly mean by this?
The cars are different enough. Judging them by their side profiles doesn't give the true picture. In fact, it's absurd to say these cars are the same when it's probably the only category in motorsport left which allows engineers total freedom to come up with the best solution. These three cars couldn't be more different from each other!

Re: 2014 Sportscar Thread
Ok Nicky I now agree
Am currently watching Road to Le Mans and they were talking about the three cars and by god they're different!
Can't believe the Toyota spits out 1000 HP!
Can't wait for the race

Because Audi have opted for 2MJ they'll have a lower stint length as they will use the allocated fuel faster than the Porsche and Toyota.
Audi can manage 13 laps at race pace, with a tiny bit of fuel saving the Toyota should be able to make 14 laps.
The Audi would probably have to be in full fuel save mode for a stint length in order to make it to 14 laps.

Really looking forward to this!!
I'm assuming the UK coverage is like it was last year? Eurosport and Radio Le Mans.
