Re: BTCC 2014
Summer break ends THIS weekend with Snetterton and Team BMR will be ditching the Vauxhall Insignia's and replacing them with a brand new pair of VW Passat CC's for Jack Goff (don't say that one 10 times fast!) and Warren Scott, taking the total VW Passat CC's on the Grid to 4 and meaning Vauxhall won't be represented on the BTCC Grid for the first time since 1988.

Jack Goff's new car Not sure if I prefer the old Insignia, but it's not half bad!

Re: BTCC 2014
Awesome. I really like Aron Smith. Seems like one of the only new guys that can hang with the good old boys when things get rough. Not afraid to slam the door closed and really claim the position.
Re: BTCC 2014
Yet more great racing at Knockhill. Disgusting attitude from the 2 Ginetta drivers at the end of the second race though. Have a fight in the paddock if you need to but ramming another car off the road is just plain stupid particularly after the chequered flag when there are marshals on track.
Glad to see Ashley Sutton was alright after this massive shunt.

Re: BTCC 2014

Re: BTCC 2014
Na BTCC held 2 licenses back in case a 2 car manufacturer entry came knocking.
So 32 car grid next year.
Would love to see these beasts upfront come round 1 at Brands

Ciceley Racing building Mercedes for Aiden Moffat
The Ciceley Racing team are building a Mercedes A-Class for Aiden Moffat to race in next season’s BTCC, driver Adam Morgan has confirmed.
Brands Hatch race winner Morgan announced the news on his blog, where he also reiterated the team’s plans to run a second A-Class if they can acquire another TBL from series bosses TOCA.
Morgan said: “We have been looking after Aiden Moffat and are building him a Mercedes A-Class to compete in next year. Whether we run a second car is still to be decided, it depends on us being able to secure a licence and available drivers.”
Aiden Moffat Racing have been working with Ciceley Racing since the summer break, in a bid to help the BTCC rookie advance further up the grid.
The 18-year-old Scot raced the ex-Andy Neate Chevrolet Cruze last season, scoring two points finishes in the final meeting at Brands Hatch.

Re: BTCC 2014
Nice! The Wix Merc was an awesome bit of kit! So no complaints with another one taking to the grid, And that POS Cruze being retired to the crap racecars bin.
I doubt they'll get another license however to run a second car in house. Assuming everyone from this season is continuing into 2015, And the addition of the two car Infiniti effort (Yeah baby!), That puts us at 32 cars. Anymore and you start to struggle with garage space at some of the tracks on the calendar.

Re: BTCC 2014
I doubt we'll see any more additional entries though nothing to say we won't lose a couple that may be replaced (remember the rumoured Renault return?) and some teams might swap to something new. We already know the Civic Tourer is out, not even sure 888 has confirmed the MG yet either.

Re: BTCC 2014
By AMD Tuning that ran a Focus instead, there is apparently a clause where teams with 3+ cars have to cut the amount of cars they enter if they go over the designated 32 licences, eg: BMR or WSR may only run 2 carsMaynard S4 wrote:Don't forget the NGTC Astra's that were supposedly built...

Re: BTCC 2014
I honestly can't see Nick Foster getting another year with WSR. The guy has done very little in his time there.
I hope Alain gets another season at BMR - the second part of his season has been really strong

Re: BTCC 2014
It'd be tough for BMR if they are forced to go down to 2 cars. Warren would, I imagine, step aside, but Aron Smith and Alain Menu did really well last year and if not for some truly awful luck Jack Goff wouldve been there too. Agree with you on Foster though, didnt do nearly enough to challenge / Support Turks and Collard.

Re: BTCC 2014
With the "Options" Plato has been saying he has to consider there may be more happening behind the scenes than we know of as yet (remember he rarely races any were that doesn't pay him to do so) So if not MG possibly someone else maybe even a new manufacturer...
Re: BTCC 2014
I personally couldn't care where Plato goes.

Re: BTCC 2014
If the Renault return does happen with full backing he could go there. He has history with Renault.
There must come a point where Plato starts to go backward. Hes no spring chicken, the pace that he undeniably has must drop off soon.
