How come the teams can run different cars within the team? I thought the idea behind the BTCC was that the teams ran the same cars so they were classed as a team.

No, they can run whatever cars they wish, as long as they are registered in the real btcc. I will point at Robertshaw racing as a perfect example. They ran three cars in 2008, two Lacettis and an Integra. In 2007 there was strong indication that WSR/Team RAC would run two BMWs and an MGZS, although that didn't happen. There is provision within the real BTCC's rules to allow this, but it is rarely used. It's easier to run similar cars as then parts, knowledge and development are easier and more cost-effective.

The reason we allowed it in the rules here are due to trying to keep options open to all who entered. We originally planned to allow only three cars of any one type in this season. If all three cars were taken, say two by one team and one by another, then a new driver joined the first team, he would need to select a different drive.

I'll give you another example. Season 1 of BTCC say myself, garyp3398 and craigsteralex join as Team Halfords. craigsteralex was declared as a stand-in driver, as we knew there would be rounds gary and myself coulcn't compete in. Problem was, we were running the pair of Civic Type R 2007s, and he didn't have the downloadable content pack that had this car. So we entered him in an Integra.

In all honesty, I didn't expect so many teams to enter three drivers, as only two can score points towards the team championship. This led to the cap for cars allowed being upped to its present five. The rules are due to be finalised in the next few days, and we may up it again to six. But that could still account for three teams of two as much as two teams of three cars.

Okay, how many cars are allowed of each model in the series? for example, my team will be running 3 or maybe even 2 sentras. but can anyone else run one if we have taken all 3 (or the other 2, since dan has already stated he is using one).

Second, is there going to be any rules concerning the livery? Personally, along with the majority of others, i hope not. any word on this?

thanks

The number of each model allowed is currently set at five, but may go up to six. This will be determined in the regulations and the car selection thread that will be made for official car choice.

The rules for livery will remain largely unchanged from last year. Your car MUST have the BTCC number box on its door, hood and roof. These will be made available. Also, as the championship is being sponsored by AG Tuning, you must carry their logo on the car. These vinyls will be made available shortly for those that need them.

the early car list went up on sunday, the rules and regs weren't going up at all on sunday. basically its all race upgrades on the handling front, race tires and stuff. Power i think is limited to 350 this season, its basically the same as last season, but with a few changes that i will let the mods announce. A800 and i think 350bhp, but i won't commit to saying thats the final rules.

Calm it, there's been a few areas of consternation.

I'm going to get them up ASAP.

Okay, FYI.

The latest draft of the regulations has been put up in the mod section for ratification. All being well, we will have this posted up in the next few days.

We will also be allowing two more cars for the list available. We will be making the 2000 Audi S4, and the Acura RL available for use.

Further information will be made available very soon, and we will be starting the car selection thread.

Thanks for your patience.

NO NO NO!

Right!

A team manager can post all cars if;
- Each member is signed up to the forum and in the Driver Entries page signed up.
- The drivers are listed under that team on the Team Entries Page.
- On that Team Entries page he is listed as Team Manager.
- There are enough cars left available.

Only a team manager can post cars for the team. Non-team managers will be ignored!

If you want, you can post your own car. This is fine, but you cant reserve a car for anyone else.

Hope that helps...

No, the Car Selection is tonight 9.00pm!

And the race time is in discussion. Me and Champion want it at 8.00pm because its a college night, but last season was ran at 9.00pm. I will tell you the verdict on that one, but with Ash agreeing, is there even going to be a discussion Wink Wink
