2014 SuperGT 500 Challenge Rules and Regulations
Friday Nights will soon be buzzing with activity again. After a successful Puma V8 Supercar Series Season 1, I have decided to keep Friday Nights alive with activity.
The 2014 SuperGT500 Challenge will follow Puma V8SC Season 1 and will run for 13 weeks with an exhibition race for Race winners at the end of the season. Cars will be FORCED STOCK (Not Enough Competition with Tuning on. I said 3 Races. (Silverstone, Hockenhiem and Mugello) with tuning and then I would make my final Decision. Cars will be Forced Stock the Rest of the season to bunch the field up some what. I know LMR is quick both with and without setups but to be fair to the people who cant tune or don't have the time to tune. I have to force it stock from now on so that everyone has a shot of gaining spots on the track.
RULES AND DRIVING ETIQUETTE
The Super GT500 Challenge is a non-contact sport. But, some contact might be unexpected or unavoidable. If you feel that you have been wrecked on purpose, please insert a Steward's Inquiry about it and the Race Stewards will take a look at it. If we hear any reports on lag from a driver, please report it to me and I will tell the driver who is causing the lag to fix his/her connection. The only possible penalty for lag is to start from the rear of the field to avoid any first lap collisions.
I expect each and every competitor that attends at any of the championship meetings to behave and communicate in a respectable manner to every single competitor and steward. If you feel a comment may be offensive, hurtful, etc., then please don't say it at all. On the track, if you feel you gained a spot unfairly, then please give the spot back UNLESS the other driver(s) have either spun or crashed.
You may get only one block per straightaway per vehicle. Any second movements that get reported to the Stewards will most likely result in a lost of positions, depending on the effect of the second block. It is not considered blocking if the driver is getting prepared to enter a corner, which will give that driver the right to move to the appropriate side of the track to take the corner, if there is any sufficient room.
If at any moment of the race a driver goes off the track, please be very watchful when you see that driver joining the track. Depending on where the driver went off depends on the action everyone has to do. If the driver is rejoining the track at the exit of the corner, then that driver has to wait until all drivers pass by. If the driver is rejoining the track on a straightaway, then all oncoming cars must give the rejoining driver room to enter the track in a safe manner. Failure to comply to this will result in lost positions, depending on the severity.
All racing and passing must be made on the race track. If a part of a track gives you a dirty lap, you are not allowed to use that part of the track. If you use the run-off of the track to gain positions, then you may either be asked to give all spots back or lose positions at the end of the race if you fail to do so. You may use all the run-off you want if you are avoiding a wreck. However, some tracks I find that there are runoff areas or corner cuts that are hard to avoid. Indy GP turn 9, Hockenhiemring Turn 1 and Road Atlanta turn 2/3, I understand that you may run wide from time to time or cut these corners, but if it is abused to get an edge on an opponent then you will be penalized.
CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Super GT500 Challenge will have the use of four championships. These championships are: Driver, Team, Privateer, and Manufacturer.
DRIVER CHAMPIONSHIP: This championship is simple and straight forward. All drivers are by themselves when earning these points.
TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: This championship is to determine the team with the most points at the end of the season. Both drivers will score points for their team. A team is allowed only to have a max of 2 drivers.
PRIVATEER CHAMPIONSHIP: This championship will determine the privateer with the most points at the end of the season.
MANUFACTURER CHAMPIONSHIP: This championship will determine which manufacturer ran the best all season long. This will be fought between Hyundai, Nissan and Lexus with an even amount of cars scoring points between the Manufacturers based on the Manufacturer that has the least amount of cars in the field. (If a Manufacturer misses a race then they will earn no points and the other 2 will)
RACE DAY
QUALIFYING
All qualifying will take place before the race starts. Qualifying will consist of one warm-up lap, four flying laps, and a cool down lap. On the cool down lap, I ask all drivers to stop in the first corner to allow the marshal time to take down all the times. Clean laps take priority over dirty laps. Damage will be set to Limited.
RACE
On race day, please be on 10-15 minutes before the start of the race so I can hand out invites for the race.
You are allowed to use any assists you wish. So, you can have everything at the easiest level or everything on the hardest level. The damage will be on cosmetic for Motegi but on Limited for Silverstone onwards.
All races will be a Rolling Start
All meetings will use a single race format due to the length of the schedule
Once the race starts, I expect clean racing from everyone and hopefully a good race. A caution will be thrown when either someone flips or two or more cars spin/crash. Off-road excursions will not throw out the caution. When the caution is thrown, the leader will pick up the field at a slow speed and pace them around the track until all drivers have caught up. You are allowed to pit if you want to under the caution due to Limited Damage. (Silverstone Onward. Pit Stops are off limits at Motegi). If the caution is still out at the last turn with three laps to go, all cars will stop in the final corner and there will be a two lap shootout from there. There will be no more cautions once there are two laps to go. All restarts will be two-wide. Whoever is in first gets choice of left or right side. Odds have to be on the Inside of the First Corners and Evens on the Outside. (For Example. Catalunya the first corner is a right hander, so the leader gets the chose whether he wants the left or right side for the corner. Then the Odds line up on the right and the evens on the left.)
At the completion of the race, the marshal will record the finishing results and tally up the points. No bonus points will be rewarded. So, you could lead all the laps, but wreck on the last lap and not get any points for all of that leading. Anyone that lags out before the conclusion of the race will be placed in the back of the grid.
What's Not Tolerated
I don't mind talking and chatting as long as it is kept to a standard of friendly banter. However, recent evens have made it abundantly clear that DISRUPTIVE voice will NOT be tolerated. If I have to warn any one driver more than once to keep their voice down so other drivers can hear me or hear lines being called . I will have no choice but to Black Flag you and issue a 2 Lap Penalty where you will Stop on Pit Road. If it continues you will sit out events until I say you are ready to come back. I will not tolerate it, PERIOD!
Excessive Blocking will result in a 1 Lap stop and go penalty. This is described as two or more moves reported to the Race Marshall/Host and witnessed by more than just the driver who was being blocked. A warning will be issued if only the driver being blocked saw it, however if it continues I will throw the black flag.
Intentionally Wrecking a Competator will result in a penalty. If under Green you will be awarded a 30 Second penalty added on to the end of your stats after the race. However if you wreck someone under Caution intentionally you will be given a 2 minute time penalty added on after the race. (This rule is being tested for a possible future series here at TORA. I cannot elaborate on what that series may be but I can say that if it happens it may possibly be a TCR Series.)

Re: 2014 SuperGT 500 Challenge Rules and Regulations
Seeing as you've specified which GT-R everyone should be using, Does it matter which Lexus I get?

I don't think it should matter. The only Lexus is the SC430 and I'm pretty sure the only difference between the three of them is the model year.

Nothing Major, I've discovered that when you attempt to put a new livery on the #1 Petronas Lexus, there are still a small amount of decals from the base livery showing on the left hand side of the car.

Re: 2014 SuperGT 500 Challenge Rules and Regulations
New Rule:
Car Caps will be in effect. 3 full Teams of 2 and 3 Privateer Teams for each Manufactuer. Nissan has capped out at 3 teams if jgroves can find a teammate. Hyundai has 3 team slots and 2 Privateer slots and the Lexus has 2 team slots and 3 Privateer slots left.
Im sorry if this causes any inconvience but I don't want one manufacturer winning every race. If all the team and Privateer slots fill up then I will increase the caps.
