Isle of Man TT 2014

I'm rather surprised there isn't a thread for this yet!  I had a link for the Superbike race on Monday, but it's been taken down

I can show you Kiwi Bruce Anstey's amazing lap record run on the final lap of the race though.  Amazing that someone could summon the strength after a full hour and a half on the bike to blast round the island at an average speed of 132 odd mph....  Got to love the Steve Parrish/Jamie Witham commentary team too!

Biking has never been my thing. It just doesn't have that appeal like cars does.

God knows how much faster that lap could've been!   

I feel that way about stuff like MotoGP and WSKB, but the road races really do capture my imagination.

The IoM TT was part of the World Motorcycle Championship til the 70s, and now continues as an effective non-championship event for Superbikes. That'd be a bit like the Targa Florio (also a time trial race) surviving til today as a race for GTs or Prototypes!
